Employment

February 2004 - Present - Design Engineer and Project manager for Aigis Blast Protection.

A rather varied and in depth role within a very unique market. I have been solely responsible for design and development of numerous products for the company and its customers, varying from blast containment systems for airports and transport terminals to vehicle protection systems for armed forces globally. Aigis is a small but rapidly growing company, and I have been a key member in the full concept to reality, and proof of product process. I have had a great deal of input into making them an ISO 9001:2000 company, and have improved their market potential in terms of cutting edge design and visualizations. I have pioneered an efficient project management system for very unique products within Aigis and had the great benefit of being involved with all aspects of their product design and client liaison.

November 2003 - January 2004 - Freelance project for Canadian motor enthusiast.

Historical study of an early motorcycle design to analyse its potential, and proof of concept. Project resulted in a 3D CAD model with supporting engineering data for my colleague to produce a full scale working prototype. (awaiting production models display at the Guggenheim Museum)

June 2003 - November 2003 - Freelance projects for Prime Function Design

Two major projects completed for Prime function, one an inventive mass production asthma inhaler for the Japanese market, and two a 3D CAD renovation and historical study of the first European aircraft to have a recorded flight.

Jan 2003 - May 2003 - 2 Sqn R.A.F. Regiment on deployment to the Middle East for Internal Security - Gulf War 2.

Jul 1998 - Aug 2003(Concurrent with University Degree course) - 2503 Sqn. Royal Auxiliary Air Force Regiment, R.A.F.Waddington, Lincolnshire.
