Electrical design experience incorporates; Equipment & Lighting layouts, Single-line diagrams & Small power layouts and Distribution Board schedules.

Proven ability as Principle/Supervisor in; Managing, Co-ordinating, Liaison and Trouble-shooting of large Design/Site Projects. Successful in establishing healthy, working environments between Nationals and Ex-Pats when placed in tense and hostile working conditions thanks to a likeable work/social disposition.

Valued experience in; Controlling of Project budgets, Design estimates, and the Setting up & Running of a National In-House Training programme, who's primary aim was to train National employees to operate Up-to-date versions of both Microstation and AutoCAD (Computer Aided Drawing) systems. Heading up a core team involved exclusively with technical pre 'Start-up' site queries from Tengizchevroil's Second Generation Project in Kazakhstan's growing 'Tengiz' field. All RCI/RFI design queries raised On-site, and In-house, are promptly answered and returned to site within a pre-specified turn-around period.

Principle Instrument/Electrical Designer

Detailed design for both 'Produced Water Re-Injection' and 'Central Control Room Upgrade' projects on Lundin's Heather Alpha Platform, with the inclusion of offshore site surveys. Also involved on smaller design projects for the following Oil-related companies; Talisman, Venture and Marathon Oil; all requiring quick turn-around due to restricted man-hours/limited budgets.

Instrumentation & Control Engineer

Seconded to the 'Dzung Quat Refinery' Project (Green site refinery); a joint venture with the Vietnam Oil & Gas Corporation (Petrovietnam).

Part of the Design/Construction Engineering team involved in Design/Engineering of the following areas; Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracker, LPG Treater Unit and RFCC Naphtha Treater Unit.

Ongoing involvement; Plant Instrument Index (Overall I/O count of 5000), Assigning / Sizing / Routing all associated Cables / Cable Trays from CCC (Central Control Complex), to PIB (Process Interface Building) to field instruments, whilst continually updating all Typical loop requirements for projects INtools database.

Controlled Input of In-house (Yokohama) INtools information, whilst Co-ordinating with JDL (Pakistan) and Technip (Malaysia) for 'Complete Information Population of project's INtools database'.

(Although the project was due for completion Feb. 2008, family illness forced an early return to the UK.)

March 05-Oct 05 HALLIBURTON (KBR) ABERDEEN

Principle Instrument/Electrical Designer

Chevron Texaco Joint Venture - Engineering & Maintenance contract encompassing all Chevron Texaco Platforms.

Involved in numerous design projects for both Alba and Captain platforms.

BP EMM Contract - 'Engineering, Modifications & Maintenance Services' for the following BP platforms; Andrew/Clair/Harding/Miller & SNS. Involved in the Setting up & Completion of work packs required for the BP Andrew, Miller and Clair platforms. Working solely with the engineer on Design issues for above platforms.

Aug 03-Feb 05 WOOD GROUP ENGINEERING, BP Annexe 'A', ABERDEEN

(Aug 03-Sept 04: ON SITE - WALLSEND, NEWCASTLE)

Principle Instrument/Electrical Designer

Integral part of a small but dedicated design team for the BP Clair platform Topsides construction & commissioning phase at AMEC's yard in Wallsend, Newcastle, with final completion at BP's Annexe 'A', Dyce, Aberdeen.

The platform is now in position West of Shetland Isles; a new breed of Modular Platform, incorporating Drilling Simultaneous Operating systems. A high level of commitment was expected throughout the project.

Primary tasks included Troubleshooting of all E&I Site/Vendor related queries (RFI's) combined with ongoing fabricator On-site Design requirements.

Other ongoing tasks include; Collating outstanding Design information, Closing out Post-Sail Away Work issues and dealing with all queries arising due to On-going Hook-up and Commissioning of Process systems.

The platform was designed at Mustang Engineering's office in Houston, so entailed continuous liaison with AMEC construction and the Houston office, resolving design queries as they arose.

Initially involved in the design of the Fusible Plug Safety System, covering all high priority areas throughout the platform, and the design and Positioning/Layout of the platform's Plug & Socket Power-up system; central to the overall success of the Offshore Hook-up.

Mar 03-July 03 HALLIBURTON (KBR) ABERDEEN

Senior Instrument/Electrical Designer

Part of the team involved in the closeout phase of TFE's Alwyn Systems Upgrade Project. The £30M project consisted of Replacement of all ESD, F&G and Process control systems on North Alwyn's A & B platform complex and involved the installation of new systems cabinets and wire-back to existing equipment for an I/O count of approximately 8000. The close out phase entailed integration and updating of traditional platform documentation, validation of INtools database information and As-building supplier drawings and documents.

July 01-Feb 03 SINGLE BUOY MOORINGS Inc. MONACO

Senior Instrument/Electrical Designer

Involved in detailed design for F.P.S.O's Atlantic & Serpentina.

Completed 'Fast-Track' FPSO Project (Brasil) for Petrobras Brazil. Responsible for the Detailed design of all Instrumentation within the fixed and rotating parts of the Turret, incorporating both lighting and small power layouts. Extraction and segregation of Instruments into signal types from Turret P&I.D's, producing Single line diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, PCS/ESD/F&G Interconnections & Termination/Junction Box Drawings, Hook-Up's, Instrument/F&G Layouts and Loop diagrams. Also involved in the production of I/O Interface Drawings, Cable/Instrument & J/B schedules. Actively involved in the upkeep of the Projects Access Database, and the design of Topsides/Modules and Vessel.

MAY 02 - JULY 02: Temporarily seconded to site at Keppel Shipyard, Singapore to assist in the completion of last minute On-site design changes to the Control, Instrumentation and F&G Systems on FPSO Brasil's Turret and Topsides.

April 01-July 01 BRANDT RIGTECH, ABERDEEN

Senior Instrument/Electrical Designer

Responsible for Instrument Design on both BP Vallhall and Esso Ringhorne projects, with equipment consisting of; Shale Shakers, Centrifuge and Hydraulic Power Units. Carried out site surveys on both projects.

Involved in the design & installation of an Off-the-Shelf Waste Water Boiler Package. A significant number of Loop and hardware links between vendor PLC's and TCO's S.C.A.D.A./D.C.S. system were required for the WWB Project.

Also involved in the replacement of the existing Controlle Bailley system with a new Honeywell TPS System (TDC 3000 & FSC)

Actively involved in the training and delegation of work to 14 National employees.
