PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
A young professional with background in industrial materials and surface treatment (coating) processes. Have garnered excellent knowledge of surface treatment failure analysis by application of surface analysis techniques such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF SIMS). Have managed research and development in the research and development in the polymer science. Have also desire for excellence and a flair for success, seeking a challenging position where my skills will be utilised towards achieving profit oriented goals.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
MScIndustrial Materials- (Result: 2'1)
Université de Rouen, Rouen, France (2005 -2006)
The course dealt with use, control and protection of industrial materials. This course was carried out in partnership with major public and international private research centres. This course was taught in English and French.
I developed both technical and management skills while studying for this course. It helped me to plan my work not with a technical point of view but also with an economical dimension to it.
BScMaterials Engineering-
Université d'Evry Val d'Essonne, Evry, France (2002 -2005)
I gained a valuable engineering background in a large number of subjects including: Organic materials and polymers, material analysis, surface treatment and applications. I took several research projects within national research laboratories and in the industry.
DiplomaAnalytical Chemistry -
Université de Nice ŕ Sophia-Antipolis, Nice, France (2001 - 2002)
CAREER SUMMARY
2006- 2007 Material Engineer (March 2006 to May 2007)
Galion (Surface Treatment Company) in Antony, France.
- Purchased salt spray fog equipment for the company. This equipment conducts corrosion resistance test. Specimens are introduced into a corrosive environment and their resistance to corrosion is estimated. I had to develop a commercial relationship with suppliers in order to find sub-contractors which correspond to the Galion requirements. Then, I carried out a cost benefit analysis before selecting the right equipment.
- Developed company's processes installation qualification. The main purpose of this project was to qualify the installation process for salt spray fog equipment for aeronautical company.
- Set up analytical tests such as X-rays fluorescence spectrometry, mechanical measure, adhesion test. I also edited files about specific qualified processes (tin plating, copper plating, and anodization.
ˇ Wrote company special process specifications. Prepared process qualification report for different surface treatment processes.
2005 Research Engineer (February to August)
Food Research and Development Centerin Sainte-Hyacinthe, Canada
I carried out a research study on modification of polymer antibacterial properties by grafting.
The objective of this research study was to modify the anti-bacterial properties of a polymer.
I managed to set up a "grafting-onto" protocol in association with the technicians' team. The polymer's growth on the surface was based on a gamma rays radiation. I verified the new properties of the modified surface with several characterization techniques: Goniometry, AFM (Atomic Force Microscope), infrared and ultra-violet spectrometry.
2004 Student Intern (February to April)
INSERM Pierre-Curie (cancer research centre) in Orsay, France.
I researched on three-dimensional structure of a peptide with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). This peptide interacts with a molecule secreted by a patient with cancer. I learned how to operate a 1-dimensionnal and a 2-dimensionnal NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) device. I wrote a poster in English about the running of the microscope aimed at communicating with the international visiting scientists.
2002Student Intern (April to July)
French Agency for Food Safety, Sophia- Antipolis (France)
I developed a method that determines bee pesticide rate. I used several analysis techniques: Chromatography (Gas chromatography, High Performance Liquid chromatography, Column chromatography), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry for this research study.
