Development and installation of new facilities for Paint Operations, my activities include:
- Writing RFQ’s and gaining cross functional Technical leveling of supplier quotations.
- Writing Investment approval and purchase order documents.
- Project management of facility installation in accordance with Bentley Legislative requirements.
- Writing job registrations, gaining appropriate Permit approvals and cross functional sign off.

In charge of a 125K robot line increase. Scope of work included: upgrades to pre-treatment and electro-coat booth and scrubber extensions, installations of new air-handling plant and additional paint application robots. My responsibilities covered:
- All site administration, daily logs, progress reports, works planning and timing, etc.
- Inspecting and expediting, site measurement and design, visiting suppliers, obtaining quotes, monitoring and inspecting manufacture and deliveries, buy offs.
- Installation Management, maintaining and facilitating installation programme, co-ordinating all deliveries and installations with multi trade contractors and clients.
- Health and Safety Management.

Responsible for a five million Euro, turn-key project, based in Italy. This package of work included the design, manufacture and installation of pre-treatment, handling and paint process robots and ancillary equipment.

(Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ford, BMW, Landrover, Vauxhall and Nissan Motors etc.)
- Supervising installation, commissioning and servicing of automated paint application machines
- Conducting on-site fault diagnosis and performing subsequent necessary servicing and repair
- Ensuring machine downtime kept to a minimum
- Provision of on-going engineering support
- Undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance activity
- Maintaining site records and producing accurate and factual daily site reports

(Dole, Birds Custard, Carr’s Biscuits, Pedigree Pet Foods, Nestle, Federation Brewery etc.)
Working within high volume manufacturing environments, in the canning and component-handling industries.
- Installation, commissioning, servicing, overhaul and maintenance of high speed production lines
- Providing support and conducting repairs and modifications to packaging and production machinery
- Ensuring down-time was kept to a minimum and production continuity maximised
- Generating and implementing continual improvement ideas
- Working to CDM regulations and obviously adhering to quality procedures.
- Organizing manpower required to achieve schedules and meet deadlines.
- Ensuring completion of projects within time, quality and cost restraints.
- Responsible for maintaining all site records and factual daily site reports.

My main duties were in the supervision of contract personnel during the installation, modification, commissioning and servicing of automated paint application machines. I had to ensure all work was carried out to programme and completed within time, quality and cost restraints, recommending and suggesting improvements to both equipment and working practices where required.
My duties also involved the rectification and repair of customer's on-site equipment, providing service support on a call-out basis whenever necessary. I was also required to maintain all on-site administration procedures and records, producing accurate and factual reports where applicable.

I worked on various projects throughout the world involved with the service, installation, and repair of high-speed can production lines, from initial commencement through to actual commissioning.

Assembling and building machine tools, conveyors and handling systems for various automotive industries.
- Building jigs for spot welding and robot welding equipment.
- Fault finding and maintenance of hydraulic presses and hydraulic supply systems.
- Modifications and general maintenance of the 'Tate Paper Mill'.
- Installation and commissioning of a range of equipment: machine tools, wash-machines, filtration systems, paint application systems.
- Overhaul of valves for steam-powered systems and hydraulic 'Refuel at Sea' equipment for 'GEC'.
- Overhauling and testing valves and 'Package' boilers.
- Building and erecting hydraulic power packs for the automotive industry.
- Fitting out aircraft interiors for 'Metair'.

After serving a four year apprenticeship I was taken on by the 'CEGB'. Conducting routine maintenance work and fault-finding on a range of equipment: pumps and valves; compressors; turbines, coolers and fuel fire equipment. My work also involved routine machining which required working from detailed drawings, to fine tolerances and I was also required to carry out welding repairs, as and when necessary.
