Career History

Employed as lead draughtsman and responsible for other draughtsman and the day-to-day running of the drawing office. I have experience of Autocad (RIO - Autocad 2006), Automanager workflow, SAP, Maximo and Microsoft Applications.

My main role was to provide a drawing service for various parts of the organisation. All drawing are stored and controlled with Automanager Meridian for which I carry out the database management and scripting. Typical types of drawings are piping and steelwork layouts, P&ID's, general building layouts and various civil drawings. It is my responsibility to see that work is done on time and is correct. I was seconded onto a £30 million expansion project from Feb-June 1997 working as a commissioning engineer.

From Sept 97 - April 98 I was seconded on to the project for the implementation of SAP plant maintenance and materials management modules. I was head of master data, ensuring that the data for the new system was converted from the existing system (Maximo) and was converted into a format that could be uploaded into SAP. After the completion of the project I was given responsibility for all new master data and the day-to-day running of the PM module. Later I was seconded onto the asset management project to provide expertise on uploading and conversion.

In Apr 2002 I was given the job title of Maintenance Support Technologist with the added responsibility for pressure system equipment and lifting tackle.

I also run various types of projects(up to £300,000) looking after the ordering of materials, getting quotes for work, producing drawings, liaising with sub-contractors and ensuring the project is on time and budget.

Employed as a detail draughtsman on night shift using CAD Unigraphics to produce drawings for various types of biscuit ovens, oven ends, extensions and associated.

Employed as a piping draughtsman on site at Boots, Cramlington, and liasing with Mowlem Eng. To produce isometric pipe sketches, sorting out technical queries to enable manufactured pipes to be installed.

Employed as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to produce arrangement and detail drawings for various steel process lines (consisting of mechanical, pipe work and hydraulics) trained on the Vax-Medusa system in 1990.

Made redundant due to company closure.

1978 I commenced a 4 year fitting apprenticeship.

In 1982 I gained promotion to the engineering drawing office. I produced engineering drawing on CAD AM (also Cad-pipe 3D) such as pipe arrangements, module frameworks and floorplate arrangements. I took information from these drawings and input it onto various computer systems.

In 1988 I gained promotion to the production engineering department with responsibilities for developing Zone Coding, build philosophies and then build strategies. Also feasibility studies into easier methods of production.
