CAREER HISTORY

BAA - Heathrow Terminal 5 Project Jul 2002 - Present

Systems & Engineering Guidance Team Planner

ˇ My role is in guiding the production of design, construction and commissioning planning activities within the Delivery Team in accordance with Project Procedures.

ˇ I monitor the progress and performance of the Task Teams, identifying threats to Project Milestones, and prepare information for Delivery Team Reports.

ˇ I assist the Task Teams in adapting their individual supplier project controls systems to meet the needs of the T5 Project. I ensure there is effective communication and planning co-ordination between the Task Team planners within the Delivery Team.

ˇ I have been actively involved in implementing the change in Project Control Software from Primavera to Artemis Views. The team has had to create a new baseline schedule with full cost and programme integration, incorporating new coding and breakdown structures. The success of the project is dependent on this programme and the necessity of Earned Value Analysis and I have worked closely in Performance Measurement.

ˇ I fulfill the role of Project Schedule Integrator responsible to Production Leaders for establishing and maintaining an integrated suite of level 5 & 6 programmes for design, manufacture, assembly, commissioning and handover, ensuring total integration within the Artemis operation.

ˇ I have performed many varied planning and project controls functions during my time at T5 and am currently the Production Planner for Security Systems encompassing integration into the wider 5 Terminal environment at Heathrow.

WS Atkins - Rugby Alliance Project - West Coast Route Modification Oct 2001 - Jun 2002

Lead Planner

ˇ Lead planner for WS Atkins on the Rugby Alliance Project working with the principal contractor Carillion and the client Railtrack. My role was to operate, maintain and develop the P3 schedule to expedite detailed integrated programmes.

ˇ Sole planner for the TPWS, Linespeed Enhancement and SPAD programmes which involved planning from the design phase through to construction, installation and commissioning.

ˇ The role was to support and advise the Senior Project manager and Construction manager with the operation and updating of the Project Schedule for all engineering disciplines.

ˇ To produce progress reports and schedule analysis details, as required for management information.

ˇ Compile salient points in method statements, concentrating on safety issues for installation and commissioning work, co-ordinated within a defined and regimented possessions procedure.





London Underground Limited - Jubilee Line Extension Project Jan 1997 - Sep 2001

Planner / Outstanding Works Supervisor

ˇ An integral member of the planning team that was responsible for delivering the 38 sites of the Jubilee Line Extension to London Underground Ltd I was responsible for the operation of outstanding works under the Electrical and Mechanical division for Station and Tunnel Ventilation, Electrical, Public Health, Fire Detection and Suppression systems. These services called for particularly close attention to detail especially to the need to interface with other aspects of the Project.

ˇ My roles required that I implement and manage a set of programmes, reports and quality practices to ensure the highest level of support for a team of managers, senior design and site based construction and commissioning engineers. I also supervised the Outstanding Works Team of 3 people which was responsible for reporting on the Civils/Architectural, Signalling, Power, Telecommunications, Lifts & Escalators, Underground Ticketing Systems, Platform Edge Doors, Floodgates, Signage and Upgrade contracts.

ˇ I liaised with the finishing team, design engineers and our client/operator to co-ordinate inspections and produce timely and agreed reports. I managed the contractors outstanding works reports and facilitated the issue of completion certificates as well as operating an outstanding works database and co-ordinating Quality Reports.

ˇ I worked closely with Senior Supervising Engineers to ensure good working relations between the clients and Contract teams as well as reporting to Planning Managers, Contract Managers, Senior Project Executives and indirectly to the London Underground Chief Executive.

ˇ I assisted with reviewing and co-ordinating programmes produced by other interfacing task teams and provided planning support to the allocated Task Team and provided detailed programmes and regular executive reports.

ARM Utilities Ltd, British Telecom Duct Laying Contract, Birmingham Jan 1994 - Oct 1996

Programme Co-ordinator

ˇ I was responsible for the operations of work undertaken over the entire Midlands zone of the British Telecom Duct Laying Contract. I prepared a long term operating programme combining hard work, a focus on the task in hand, improved motivation and man management within the team and enhanced relations with our client.

ˇ The job demanded precise time and project management, as the work was completed to strict customer deadlines, and prioritised accordingly. I developed strong man management skills ensuring all the site agents and sub contractors kept their work up to date, as it was my responsibility to keep the work in progress deficit to a minimum.

ˇ I learned quickly about the industry and worked closely with company directors who encouraged me to take an interest in all aspects of operations from the planning of work through to it's invoicing for payment.

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPETENCY

I have a working knowledge of Primavera Project Planner Version 3.1 and have attended courses on Planning and Scheduling and Resource and Cost Analysis with version 3.0 as well as Monte Carlo 3.0 Project Risk Analysis.

I am currently using Artemis Views Project Planning Software, alongside Primavera Project Planner Version 3.1. I am also competent working in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Quattro Pro, Paradox for Windows, Access, PowerPoint and Word. I also have effective understanding of Documentum 4i document management and Lotus Notes. My skills, qualifications and training are recorded on the ACTA skills database.
