As General Manager - Rail, with a brief of establishing a Rail Division for the Infrastructure Services Division. Reporting directly to the Board on all commercial, financial, Quensh/risk and compliance management, operations and support functions.

Following its conception, I established a team of 27 staff comprising of 4 Senior Managers and 5 PM's as direct reports, 40 site operatives and sub-contractors working on various projects for Network Rail, Westinghouse, and power projects for ABB. Within the first year we gained our full CAC, with 23 categories of link up approval securing projects with clients, NWR, Westinghouse, and ABB.

Fully developed and introduced IT based professional contract delivery model, reducing induction time for new recruits and standardising documentation issue to clients nationally. This model was then rolled out into other business sectors within Alfred McAlpine. I developed a project management programme tailored to commercial, financial, QUENSH reporting processes, addressing an existing bureaucratic system. Through change management process we introduced new skill sets into the business reducing risk and cost to both AMIS and our clients.

Reporting to the Board I was a budget holder with a level of business standing at £15m worth of contracts.
