Tasked to achieve a step change in safety policies, procedure & culture by applying project skills to identify & implement necessary change through training, coaching & monitoring. Managed the achievement of Achilles accreditation.
Involved with marketing, identified & developed new business opportunities & partnerships within the South East. Carried out other duties including the introduction of policies for: overseas travel, travelling to & from work, competitive tendering & contractor selection. The position was lost after the expected increase in work did not emerge.

Completed projects ranged in value up to £12m including:
fire protection upgrade, feed line dosing system, emergency plume gamma monitoring system, HTTS reactor protection system, reactor enhanced shut down, site security upgrade, fire damper renewal, waste assay system, genset monitoring, cable flat fire detection, site security upgrade & DPS tender selection.
Elevated the quality of the project department at Dungeness B & ensured that contracting staff used project procedures & required quality plans & developed a flow diagram to demonstrate to new staff how all project specific documents where processed from draft, approval, issue & closeout.

Member of a site project team assigned to electrical biased projects required by the Periodic Safety Review. Responsible for the management of delivery of work carried out by contractors within the power station environment. Ensured that the project was completed safely, on programme, within budget limits & to the required quality from construction, through to commissioning & project hand over & closeout. Ensured compliance within the regulatory framework of the nuclear industry. Completed the 6.6 kV electrical reinforcement of Dungeness A.
Other projects included: Cathodic protection of Reactor buildings & Electronic alarm system. The capital worth of projects ranged up to £5m.

Member of the electrical maintenance department. Specific duties included: secondary injection testing of switchgear protection, trip testing HV & LV switchgear. Authorised to receive `Sanction for Test’ to enable HV testing of generators, transformers, cables & motors also for inspection of reactor control equipment under the site licence. Upgraded to Work Shop Manager when required with responsibility for specifying defect work, executing the maintenance schedule & directing & planning for E.C. & I staff. The department employed around 50 technical staff

Two years at Transmission Projects at Sellindge H.V.D.C. Link within the section responsible for the installation of all HV, MV, & LV site cabling. Specific areas of responsibility were two 30 Mvar static compensators. Required to monitor safety, programme & quality by taking corrective action to rectify shortfalls. As part of the Commissioning section, took electrical Plant from the erection phase, through the formal commissioning process to handing over to the client. Produced test documents, supervised / witnessed testing to ensure that the plant met its design intent, was complete & safe to operate. Two major projects were Emergency Cooling Water System & 11 Kv electrical reinforcement.
