I have had over eighteen years postgraduate experience with sixteen years in project management, costing, feasibility studies, design, assessment, technical appraisal, risk assessment, safety management including personal track safety (PTS), and construction supervision of bridge works and tunnels; and other periods on building works. ¨ March - July 2007: TUBE LINES LIMITED, LONDON: LONDON UNDERGROUND NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION Application of the requirements of Schedule 1.10 of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Contract to Protection of the London Underground (LU) Network . Liaising on behalf of the LUL with Outside Parties planning to carry out works at locations above or near the London Underground. Management, review and certification of Outside Party submissions including Conceptual Design Statements, Structural Assessments, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Personal Track Safety (PTS).

¨ July - August 2006: CARILLION-URS CORPORATION LIMITED, LONDON: MANAGING AGENT CONTRACT Scheme Design including Project Appraisals, Management Plans and Assessment as for previous railway and road underbridges.

¨ March - July 2006: SCOTT WILSON RAILWAY, SWINDON: NETWORK RAIL WEST COAST ROUTE MODERNISATION - RUGBY STATION Principal Engineer leading the design of the civil engineering aspects of the station development. Modernisation of Station including Bridge, Canopy, and Bore Piles and Pile Cap Design.

¨ November 2005 - March 2006: CARILLION-URS CORPORATION LIMITED, LONDON: AREA 8 MANAGING AGENT CONTRACT Scheme Design including Project Appraisals, Management Plans, Risk Assessment, Traffic Regulation, Health and Safety Plans, and Appraisals of Tender Proposals for Strengthening and Replacement works on various road and railway underbridges. Assessment and Strengthening Design as required.

¨ April 2002 - June 2003: EDDY 'O CONSULTANTS, LONDON: Management, review and certification April 2004 - September 2005 of Inspection and Assessment Reports, Strengthening and Design of railway bridges and station structural frames of various construction.

¨ October 2001 - February 2002: OWEN WILLIAMS RAILWAYS / RAILTRACK EAST ANGLIA Part management, review and certification of Approval in Principle documents and Inspection for Assessment Reports for over twenty five bridges of various construction.

¨ June - October 2001 HALCROW GROUP LIMITED / RAILTRACK: THE SOUTH CENTRAL RAIL PROJECT. Conceptual Design of railway underbridges and station platforms to provide capacity improvements, timetabling flexibility for overtaking trains and possible speed increases for fast overtaking and non-stopping trains.

¨ RAILTRACK PROJECT DELIVERIES, EAST ANGLIA (1998/2001): Part management, review and certification of Approval in Principle documents, and Inspection and Assessment Reports for over one hundred railway bridges of various construction located on the Gospel Oak to Barking and North London Lines.

¨ HIGH POINT RENDEL (1998): MILLENNIUM DOME. Design of Structural Steel Roof Trusses.

¨ NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (1997/98): RAILTRACK & BRITISH RAILWAYS BOARD. Part Management of Assessment Project for over eighty railway overbridges. Preparation of Approval in Principle documents and review of Inspection and Assessment Reports.

¨ SCOTT WILSON KIRKPATRICK (1997):- A19 TEES VIADUCT SUBSTRUCTURE REFURBISHMENT. Design of temporary support for the viaduct superstructure.

¨ RAILTRACK PROJECT DELIVERIES, EAST ANGLIA (1997): Project management, review and certification of Method Statements and Assessment Reports for various railway underbridges.

¨ RAILTRACK PROJECT DELIVERIES, NORTHWEST (1996): MANCHESTER VICTORIA AREA INFRASTRUCTURE RENEWALS. Management of various railway underbridges including assessment check, strengthening and replacement proposals.

¨ EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL (1995): Management of five small and medium span bridges. Inspection and assessment of bridge structures including masonry jack arches and reinforced concrete decks, abutments, wing, and training walls. Preparation of Project Quality Plans, Approval in Principle documents and Assessment Reports.

¨ CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (1995) : A1(M) ALCONBURY- PETERBOROUGH DBFO PROJECT. Technical Appraisal of Tender proposals from four consortia, for the structures of the DBFO project for upgrading the 21km length of the A1, from Alconbury to Peterborough; for the Department of Transport. The fourteen major structures included single-span and multi-span continuous steel composite and concrete decks, corrugated buried steel and concrete box types. Spans varied up to 40m.

¨ STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (1994/95): Highwood Road Railway Viaduct, Uttoxeter Bypass. Feasibility studies of bridge replacement scheme. Design of substructure and piled foundations supporting four-span continuous steel composite skew deck, with maximum square span of 20m; and preparation of contract documents.

¨ Strengthening design of three-span simply supported steel composite railway overbridge, on the Tunstall Western Bypass.

¨ Inspection and assessment of five concrete bridges on the A38 Dual Carriageway, and documentation preparation; for the Department of Transport.

¨ L. G. MOUCHEL & PARTNERS (1993/94): Project management, costing, feasibility studies of strengthening and replacement schemes for four short and medium span bridges on A449 and A454 in Wolverhampton. Supervision of site investigation works for structures including precast "M" beam deck, in-situ concrete slab deck and portal frame. Design of replacement structures including precast post-tensioned box culvert, and piled foundations.

¨ SIR OWEN WIILIAMS & PARTNERS, BIRMINGHAM(1993) : M4 - M5 Almondsbury Interchange. Category 3 assessment check of multi-level, multi-span bridge structures.

¨ W. S. ATKINS INTERNATIONAL LTD(1990/93) : Second Severn Crossing and M5-M49 Roads. Design of various reinforced concrete structures for approach roads and viaducts. Preparation of Bills of Quantities for structures, earthworks and drainage.

¨ M5 - M6 Midland Link Motorway Viaducts. Inspection, assessment and design of reinforced concrete and steel composite bridge decks, sub-structures and piled foundations. Structures included 21m span decks and six-bay frames comprising 2m deep and 42m long crossbeams on 7m high piers.

¨ Design of structural steel temporary supports including 2m deep plate girders, A-frames, and 4m deep spliced trusses with High Strength Friction Grip bolt connections.

¨ WATERMAN PARTNERSHIP, LONDON(1989/90). Feasibility studies including preparation of four steel and four reinforced concrete schemes for six storey office development including two storey sub-structure car park. Detailed design of selected concrete scheme for Aquis Estates Ltd.

¨ Detailed design of main frames and foundation bases for reinforced concrete multi-storey office blocks and car park, and structural steel arcade for Capability Green Centre, Luton.

¨ Scheme design of multi-storey office developments, including curved building, and detailed design of steel frameworks, composite deck slabs and piled foundations.

¨ TAYLOR WOODROW CONSTRUCTION LTD. , JOHN LAING PLC LONDON, WIMPEY CONSTRUCTION LTD, LONDON(1988/89). Resident or Site Engineer on various building projects including business centres and car parks. In-situ design, setting-out, labour supervision and maintenance of specified standards.

OTHER INFORMATION

A wide experience in the use of computer packages in the design and assessment of bridges and building structures; project management and costing, including; LEAP5, SuperSTRESS, NLSTRESS, STRAP, SCALE, OASYS, DECAS, ASAS, ORACLE and EXCEL.

Also used Finite Element bridge deck analysis, earth-moving and road design packages.

Graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers.
