WORKEXPERIENCE:

September 2005 - Present - Self Employed Electrical Technician

Working as an Electrical Engineering Technician for various companies on various contracts. I have operated mainly within the industrial and heavy duty fields. I have worked as a supervisor being directly responsible for the safe and efficient utilization of all electrical equipment and plant throughout factories, yards and offices. Worked as part of an engineering team co-operating with other production and engineering disciplines ensuring maximum utilization of all electrical equipment and plant in a safe and efficient manner. Carried out modifications and repairs on PLC systems, high tech electrical and mechanical production and fabrication equipment.

October 1998 to September 2005 - H.M Armed Forces

Light Aid Detachment, 27 Sqn, JNBCR, R.A.F Honington - December 2003 - September 2006

This unit was a front line reaction regiment used for detection of nuclear, biological and chemical warfare weapons and equipment. The Light Aid Detachment was responsible for all specialists monitoring equipment. My duties and roles were as follows:

  • Undertook scheduled maintenance, investigated, diagnosed, repaired, replaced and applied corrective electrical maintenance on electronic systems and components including low and high voltage generators, airfield installations, compressors, hydraulic rigs, vehicles and mains operated domestic equipment using the appropriate test equipment.
  • Checked, adjusted and functionally tested electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems using precision measuring equipment.
  • Embodied modifications to equipment, which included the local manufacturing of parts.
  • Dismantled and rebuilt assemblies, removed, reconditioned and refitted sub assemblies and major components.
  • Specialist maintenance on complex radar, rapier and Fuchs equipment.
  • Maintained complex earth protection systems.
  • Installed and maintained complex temporary lighting and power systems.
  • Repaired and calibrated specialist test equipment.
  • Supervised, inspected and directed work carried out by subordinates.
  • Accepted the responsibility of a post as a supervisor in charge of a bay or teams ensuring operating procedures and regulations were adhered to.
  • Maintained, modified and rectified numerous specification specialist military vehicles. Working within tight schedules working on systems as PUWER, LOLA, MEWP, and LEV

Ground Electrical Technician

Ground Engineering Flight, R.A.F Coningsby - June 1999 - December 2002

Duties and skills were as follows:

  • Took the necessary precautions to safeguard aircraft, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Operated and maintained tools, machines and test equipment appropriate to electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Carried out daily maintenance checks, positioning and operation of Ground Support Equipment and Lifting Tackle. And completed all necessary paperwork involved.
  • Operated in a quality control system.
  • Manufactured, maintained and fitted cable assemblies and looms.
  • Carried out electrical maintenance on Ground Support Equipment, vehicles and components.
  • Installed and maintained portable lighting, basic temporary lighting and power systems.
  • Maintained basic earth protection systems and all types of electrical storage systems.
  • Carried out rectification of airfield emergency aircraft arresting gear.

No. 4 School Technical Training, R.A.F St Athan - December 2002 - December 2003

Further Trade Training skills were taught along with all necessary subjects needed for City & Guilds and NVQ Level 3 certification. The course is used as advanced technical training, passing theoretical, practical and oral examinations.
