This is a multi-national, multi-disciplined company specialising in Scaffolding, Insulating, Painting and Fireproofing operations.

Position Site Health and Safety Advisor Humber Refinery - reporting to the Site Manager.

ˇ Accountable for the day to day safety operations of all disciplines on site;

ˇ Attend client and company safety meetings and communicate safety information between the client and company personnel;

ˇ Undertake proactive & reactive safety performance monitoring and formulate statistical information for both the client and the company;

ˇ Generate risk assessments and method statements for emerging works;

2002 - 2006 Meldan Fabrications Limited, Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire.

This is a family owned engineering fabrication company undertaking pipe-work and structural steelwork installation on major CDM projects, at petrochemical refineries and power stations.

Position Company Health and Safety Advisor and Training Co-ordinator.

ˇ Accountable for the development and implementation of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems and procedures.

ˇ Liaise with HSE, EA and Clients to provide Health, Safety and Environmental advice and services to senior management and site supervision.

ˇ Liaise with company insurers to reduce premiums through safety improvements and mitigating employee liability claims.

ˇ Compilation of pre-tender health and safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.

ˇ Chair company safety committee meetings and attend client safety meetings.

ˇ Facilitate and deliver safety training for company employees to ensure they understand their HS&E responsibilities and present skills are maintained.

1992 - 2002 CCL Industries Ltd, Grimsby, Lincolnshire. This is a multinational company manufacturing Aerosols and other packaged FMCG for major companies.

Product range includes household, industrial, personal use and perfume products.

Position Site Safety Advisor - reporting to the European Risk Manager.

ˇ Promoted to this position from Engineering Technician in 1995.

ˇ Accountable for the development and implementation of site Health, Safety and Environmental Management System within a lower tier COMAH Site.

ˇ Liaise with HSE & EA and am responsible for providing Health & Safety advice and services to senior and line management.

ˇ Train employees at all levels to ensure they understand their HS&E responsibilities.

ˇ Manage computer based Safety Action Tracking and HS&E Procedure Control Systems.

ˇ Chair the Site Safety Committee consisting of management and employees representing all site departments.

ˇ Other duties include formulating the budget to manage a small team of Hygiene Operatives - this area covers all aspects of stock control and ordering for cleaning consumables, cleaning services and food and vending machine supplies for 200 employees.

Position Engineering Technician (1992 - 95)

ˇ Accountable for service and maintenance of site plant and manufacturing process equipment.

ˇ Co-ordinated a team of Engineers in the installation and commissioning of a fully automated Aerosol manufacturing line development with its associated PC based PPM support system.

ˇ Provided the engineering lead within a Continuous Improvement team by introduction of a specialised Aerosol Waste Transfer and Management System targeting waste reduction.

1986 - 95 Engineering maintenance work on large process plants and shut down contracts:-

ˇ Norsk Hydro Fertilisers. - Nitric Acid Chemical Plant / Turbines.

ˇ Seaforth Group - Humber Ship Repairs and Refurbishment.

ˇ British Steel.

1979 - 86 Freemantle Designs Limited - Served an apprenticeship and became a qualified Packaging Engineer, designing and manufacturing pneumatically controlled Carton Erectors, Product Collating machines and other types of process machinery for FMCG manufacturers within the UK and Europe.
