Duties

I manage a team of 24 Safety Officers, who report directly to me.

Our Responsibility is for the awareness and adherence, to all current RasGas and Qatari Health and Safety laws and requirements. The team give Health and Safety advice, to Management, production operators, contractors and liase with the construction safety dept on RG2 development.

My Duties included Hazcon/hazid, Health and Safety Audits, including PTW, Management Safety Inspections, Site assessments, overseeing the safety aspects regarding, commissioning of the newly constructed Train 5, the production process of Trains1, 2, 3 and 4, the construction of Train's 6 and 7, and shutdown activities involving 3000+ contractors.

I have developed Health and Safety plans for shutdown activities, which include the EHS plan, site access control, traffic management, and waste management plans plus Shutdown induction and training programmes.

I am also responsible to ensure myself and the team attend, Risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis meetings, and accident/ incident investigations. Participating in emergency drills with the Emergency services. Maintaining Health and Safety Systems, Reviewing RASGAS Safety procedures, publication and distribution of HSE information, presenting shutdown induction programme to Shutdown management team, operational staff and contractors, plus toolbox talks to staff and contractors, Carrying out H2s gas testing, Manual handling training and mentoring Qatari nationals toNVQ/ Nebosh standard.

These duties were executed during the design, fabrication, installation and erection of pipe work on various contracts, e.g. exporting and fitting of shipboard contracts and the installation of pipe work in underground mines.
