Rig update/re-activation projects using AutoPLANT and AutoCAD 2007

Feb 07 - May 07 BAE Systems - Piping Designer

CVF (Aircraft Carrier) Stage 1 using AutoCAD 2005.

Dec 06 - Present Trident Engineering Consultants Ltd. - Piping Designer

Producing P&ID and general arrangement drawings for tank farms and depots using ACAD 2005.

July 06 - Nov 06 Jacobs Engineering Ltd. (Grangemouth) - Piping Designer

Initially working on refurbishment/enhancement to jetty area of site, thereafter on petro-chemical

process pipework design. Conducting site surveys to provide engineering documentation

upgrades for G4 (chemicals) turnaround. Production of 'intelligent' database driven isometrics for

chemical relief, process and utility systems. Also, production of pipe fabrication isometrics

complete with MTO's using AutoCAD 2002 and AutoPLANT together with updating P&ID

diagrams etc.. Liaison with process engineers to incorporate latest piping specifications into

design.

2001 - July 06 BAE Systems : Type 45 Destroyer - Senior Draughtsman

Principal tasks include wholeship 3D pipe system routing and integration together with

subsequent spooling & linking, and creation of manufacturing sketches and installation

drawings. Additionally place penetrations in cad model and produce subsequent

penetration drawings. Communication with design and regularly provide solutions to

technical queries via production liaison. Have also been involved in updates/modifications

to 2D system schematics. Recently been involved in mentoring apprentices as part of

their training program.

Utilise CADDS 5, Optegra applications and various Windows NT based applications

including Windchill, PIMS and DIPS in my day to day work. Have also attended a two

week long Foran evaluation training course.

2001 BAE Systems : Astute Class Submarine (Barrow secondment)

Use of CADDS software, Optegra applications, DVise visualisation software and a variety of

Windows packages. 3D IMS pipe routing, integration, clash detection, spooling and linking.

2000-2001 BAE Systems : LPD (Barrow secondment)

3D Pipe routing & integration, spooling, linking, dealing with emergent change, producing

manufacturing sketches using developing software.

1998-2000 BAE Systems : LPD Scotstoun

3D Pipe routing and integration, completed several training courses, penetration

placement. Attended wholeship system area integration reviews at VSL Barrow.
