1. Lead engineer on all forms of control and measurement system - hazardous and safe area: Costing / specification, design, purchase, build, testing, installation and commissioning of control and safety systems for busy contracting firm. Documentation of ATEX hazardous area design. Specific expertise in combustion management systems and fired process plant. Fire detection and protection. ESD systems. Application of IEC61508/61511.

2. Hardware and software engineering of DCS, PLC and SCADA systems: Fisher Provox, Emerson DeltaV, Allen Bradley RS Logix and PanelBuilder, Siemens STEP 7 and ProTool and others. System specification, electrical design, programming and factory and site acceptance testing. Design and commissioning of Fieldbus systems. Integration of software with third party suppliers.

3. Management of project engineering and contractual issues: Design concept / quotation stage through acceptance trials to long term service and support. Responsible for field control of installation contractors as well as internal engineering resources. AUTOCAD / EPLAN proficient.

4. Testing, site installation, commissioning, repair and service of process equipment: Contracts across a wide range of process industries in U.K., E.U and Far East. High degree of process and mechanical engineering skills honed by work in remote locations. Site survey, retrofit design, advising on operating procedures and training programmes.

5. Software validation for batch and continuous plant: Management of Change implementation on top tier COMAH site. Development of test and commissioning procedures. Software / human factor investigation of plant incidents. Configuration design approval.
