BALFOUR BEATTY RAIL RENEWALS. ASSISTANT PROJECT ENGINEER - TRACK RENEWALS.

Managing and delivering track renewals safely, profitably, to time and to the satisfaction of the customer producing KPIs, Risk/Hazard assessments and method statements. Achievements: CTRL upgrade. Gauge corner crack projects.

1996 to 2001

SERCO/RAILTEST. MANAGING SUPERVISOR - GAUGING ASSESSMENT (PERMANENT WAY). Clearance assessments of rolling stock to structures and between rolling stock by manual and computerised methods. Competency and risk assessor. Supervision and participation of track geometry platform/site surveys. T3 planning and project management. TOPS/TRUST experience. Supporting the Gauging Engineer when required. Achievements: Diversifying into 'Train Captain' duties on the Serco/Railtrest Weedsprayer, SGT and Railgrinder test trains. Enhancing the Serco calibration route. Project management involvement in the Virgin cross country and National gauging projects. Developing the performance of the groups personnel.

SERCO/RAILTEST. MANAGING SUPERVISOR - GAUGING ASSESSMENT (PERMANENT WAY). Calculation of rolling stock clearance assessments. Directing site surveys and investigations into the introduction of new rolling stock. Achievements: Surveys and tests involved on the Railtest 'Old Dalby' research test track. Participation on the Channel Tunnel link project.

BRITISH RAIL. PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL OFFICER - STRUCTURAL ASSESSMENT. Structural assessment, corrosion surveys, bridge tests. Abnormal road load assessments and routing. Analysis of bridge marking.
