Highways element

This involves the preliminary and detailed design and documentation of residential/ commercial highways infrastructure to British Standards and Local Authority design criteria, typically for section 38 or 278 approval. This role includes the use of specialist computer software namely AutoCAD and PDS to aid the production of plans, structures, horizontal and vertical alignment design, finished road levels and setting out information for construction.

Drainage element

This involves the preliminary and detailed hydraulic design and documentation of drainage systems to British Standards and local authority design criteria, typically for section 104 approval. Again this role utilises specialist computer software; AutoCAD and Micro Drainage (WinDES) in the preparation of road/ building drainage, pumping station design and flood risk assessments.

It is predominantly office based design work with some amount of project management and site visits.
