Operations Readiness Manager (GEA Proj.) SonaHess Algeria 2006-2007
Responsible for developing and implementing Operations Readiness Plans for an Oil and Gas development in Algeria. Predominately an advisory role to direct and influence department managers on the requirements of operating new hydrocarbon facilities in Algeria.
Operations & Maint. Advisor (BMS Project, Algeria) Hess 2005-2006
Providing operations and maintenance input to the BMS Project Development Team. Primarily responsible for developing operating standards for the facility and to develop life of field operating and maintenance cost estimates, manning and recruiting schedules, spare parts costing, etc.
Assisting in peer reviews and to provide operational support to the project and engineering team.
Directeur de Centre Production (Algeria) BHP Billiton 1999- 2005
Responsible for Operations and Maintenance of the 20 MCM/d Ohanet Wet Gas Processing Facility, located in the Algerian southern Sahara. During the project feasibility stage, provided Operations input to the Facilities and Project Engineering team. Primary Operations Team member at the EPC contractor's office.
▪ Developed maintenance and operating strategies.
▪ Operations Input to detailed design.
▪ Key member of the Hazop team.
▪ Identified and verified 2 year operating spares.
▪ Developed recruitment and training schedules.
The latter part of the project focused on recruitment of expatriate and national workforce together with the development and implementation of training plans. Key role in plant commissioning and start-up.

Member of the conceptual design team to provide Operations input to the project. Worked closely with JV partners in developing Operating strategies and budgets and assisted in project risk assessment processes.
OIM / Field Sup. (Ravenspurn North & Esmond)BHP 1994-1998
Designated Offshore Installation Manager for the Ravenspurn North Gas Field located in the southern North Sea. Responsible for HSE, and all production and platform maintenance activities.
Key achievements:-
- Production targets met with an exceptional delivery performance
- Safe installation of the Johnston processing facility whilst simultaneously maintaining gas production.
- Performing an operations review, the results of which were used to improve operating efficiency and optimise personnel levels.
- Key member of the integration team for handover of the facilities to BP divestment activity.
Onshore Field Supervisor (Liverpool Bay, UK) BHP1993 -1994
Seconded to the Liverpool Bay / Point of Ayr Oil and Gas Development project group to provide Operations and Maintenance input during the feasibility and conceptual design stages, actively involved in:-

- Providing operation critique for equipment selection.
- Preparation of manning levels and operations budgets.
- Developing Maintenance strategy and requirements.

Onshore Field Supervisor ( Duncan & Argyll Fields)BHP1989 -1994
Onshore support engineer for the North Sea floating production facilities Deep Sea Pioneer and North Sea Pioneer (UK North Sea). In this position provided a multi-discipline technical role to support the offshore operations and maintenance needs and in particular to ensure Dept. of Energy legislative requirements were met. Being a relatively small department the position required multi-discipline knowledge, including a thorough understanding of engineering design, modifications and safety case inputs.
Assistant Operations Manager (Odfjell Drilling Co). 1984- 1989
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and responsible for the day to day operations of the Deepsea Pioneer floating production facility. Responsible for developing and implementing Operations and Maintenance strategies and selection and recruitment of all Operations, Maintenance and Marine personnel. Developed operations competency requirements and formulated associated training plans.
During the Rig conversion, responsible for refurbishment of all existing Rig equipment such as Diesel Generators, Pumps, Centrifuges, Cranes, Riser Tensioner's, etc,
Mech. Maint. Engineer (SHELL Expro, UK Offshore) 1982 - 1984
Mechanical Maint. Engineer Cormorant Alpha. :- responsible for day to day maintenance of all platform mechanical activities and responsible for managing sub-contractors such as scaffolding, painting and rigging. Key member of the emergency response Fire Team.
Senior Mech. Technician Fulmar Alpha and Fulmar FSU, :- assigned to the Fulmar Alpha project commissioning team to support Mechanical commissioning activities, thereafter reverted back to maintenance team to support platform maintenance effort.
6 month secondment to the Fulmar Floating Storage Unit in charge of all facility maintenance.
2 nd Engineer Officer (Merchant Navy) 1969 - 1982
Qualified Marine Engineer Officer (1 st Class Motor) with experience on VLCC, Container & General Cargo Ships and Passenger Ferry. Extensive experience in construction and delivery of new builds with experience in dry-docking.
