CAREER HISTORY

HSE Manager Millennium Inorganic Chemicals 2005 - Present

· Site management team responsibility for all Health, Safety and Environmental activities, including; leadership and personnel development of staff, implementing processes to improve the sites' HSE performance, management of the relationships with regulatory bodies, management of compliance for the company's HSE system, and setting and delivering business plans with the senior management team to continually improve the business performance.

Operations Manager AB Technology, Northampton 2004

· Senior management team responsibility for all operational activities, including; leadership of 45 staff, profit and loss accountability, and setting and delivering business plans to continually improve safety, quality, efficiency and profitability in a food ingredients business.

· Extensive change management experience including the implementation of; Health and Safety management systems to ensure legal compliance, a new product cost reporting methodology, a revenue and capital budget process, communication processes within the operations teams, processes for personal development, recruitment using competency testing, a succession planning system, individual mentoring and a restructuring of the operations organisation.

Assistant Plant Manager Syngenta Grimsby 2001 - 2003

· Full management responsibility for all aspects of production and shift process operating teams during the manufacturing plant closure process. Continued to achieve 100% of customer sales targets until production completed.

· Developed and trained shift supervisors to First Line Manager status.

· Chairman of the local safety group, contributing to the achievement of 6 years and 1,800,000 man-hours without an LTA, and winning two CIA Diamond awards.

Process Operations Manager Syngenta Grimsby 1996 - 2001

· Fully managed several batch chemical processes and associated plant, which included production planning and supply chain, quality and costs, operator training, safety, health and environmental performance, standard product cost reporting, capital and revenue project needs, process improvements, cross-functional project management, and successful introduction of four new chemical processes.

· Experience of performance improvements in quality rate saving £200k, and in environmental performance by reducing emissions and eliminating a waste stream saving £100k pa.

Business Project Manager Novartis Grimsby 1994 - 1996

· Designed and implemented projects to improve business performance and effectiveness, involving influencing change within varying groups at all levels in the organisation.

· Implemented the NVQ Assessment system and a competency based flexible skills program

· Key influence in the departmental reorganisation to a customer oriented organisational structure. Line management responsibility for a project and design engineering group.

Project Engineer Novartis Grimsby 1990 - 1994

· Successfully managed a £90m Bulk Pharmaceutical Plant on schedule and on cost. Managed all the construction activities after Mechanical Handover from the Managing Contractor.

· Project management for all technical and commercial aspects of several and varied projects in a Secondary Pharmaceutical Production, Development and Research environment.
