TELECOMMS PROJECT MANAGER

First Engineering (York): June 2005 - Present

▪ Responsible for the Project Management of Network Rail GRIP Stage 1 - 8 projects (Network Rail LNE region, National Telecoms Framework Agreement).

▪ Overall day to day Project Management of multi disciplinary project teams and all project related issues.

▪ Managed and negotiated the change process to agreed baseline P3 programmes with Network Rail Project Managers

▪ Responsible for the authorisation and delivery of both internal and external period commercial reports

PROJECT ENGINEER

Lancsville Rail (Marconi Project): August 2003 - December 2003

▪ A member of a multidiscipline Project Team directed by the Project Manager. Responsible for the on time delivery and implementation of the engineering elements within the project.

▪ Responsible for the effective use of engineering resources within the project, which may include directly, employed staff, contractors, and sub-contractors.

▪ Required to assess the impact of any requested changes, and propose effective solutions in co-operation with the other engineering functions and the client.

▪ Responsible for ensuring that the design to be implemented, including any changes is approved by the appropriate authorities and that the approved design is to comply with the project and external engineering standards and regulations.

▪ To ensure that all paperwork and procedures are followed and completed on a daily basis then the data is collated and recorded in accordance with company procedures.

▪ Able to install, terminate, splice and preliminary test fibre optic cable

▪ Worked alone, pre-fabricating Location Housing Cabinets for major projects, before terminating both copper and fibre cables into cabinets out on site.

▪ Assisted with design, planning and costing on various projects.

▪ Worked with C.A.D when designing Cable/Circuit diagrams.

▪ Responsible for the supervision and training of a mobile communications team, for establishing a Wide Area Communications Network over difficult terrain under adverse conditions.

▪ Working primarily with SCRA (T) - Single Channel Radio Access Terminal detachment with HF and VHF elements and antennas, for access into a secure data communication network.

▪ Responsible for site planning and effective antenna propagation to maintain communications, applying voice, radio and data procedures to ensure messages were passed in an effective and timely manner.

▪ Planned and initiated a controlled programme for periodical inspections for the detachments within the team.
