Career History | Capacity Planning Transmission Designer Telecoms Network build (Contract) Feb 2007 - Present (BTWholesale 21CN project ) London I am responsible for the planning and implementation of various core networks, for capacity management that handles the access network from the BT Exchange's to BT Customer's. As a CAPACITY MANAGER, MY TEAM is responsible for migration the old network 20CN unto the new 21CNetwork, where my role is to calculate the capacity of the existing network using the PADLOC database and transfer this capacity unto the 21CN. This Migration is designed and implemented using SDH, PACS, Graphical Browser, NESSA, ERT. In which enables me to migrate in a fully co-ordinate fashion, PSTN lines, VLAN, Broadband, DSLAM, MSLAM, EVOTAM, and MDF mapping Transmission Designer and Costing Telecoms Network build (Contract) May 2005 - 25 th August 2006 Arqiva (formerly ntl) Winchester Hampshire To design transmission network solutions to meet customer technical and financial requirements while conforming to arqiva network architecture standards. Design be-spoke networks utilizing SDH, PDH, dark fibre, DWDM, radio waves, Ethernet, and Cisco equipment Cost the networks designs including capital cost, resource requirements, and annual operational cost. Produce details documented design to enable the build group to implement proposed design, also assist project manages and Build Group in design aspect of project implementation. Provide cost analyses of new product/infrastructure to enable the study of the impact of the new products on the network, while following the company's change management procedure. Accepted network change notification from project engineers and accurately created networks drawings for new sites. Updated existing sites using MS Visio. Level of detail covered router/switch port numbers (Cisco 2600~, 2900~, 3500~, 6000~), type of interface (Serial, BRI, FE), IP Loop-back, sub-net mask and default gateway addresses and bandwidth. (following the company change management policy) Confirmed the 'kit build' and level of service provided met the customer requirements; interrogated router configurations and engineer's work plan. Produce plans for the core transmission network, capacity managed and plan the DDF and ODF. Implemented leased bandwidth transmission solution in a cost-effective manner. Liased with other licence operator and other departments within BTcellnet, BT, Nokia, Motorola, Ericsons, Cable & Wireless and Cisco. Delivered crucial Management Reports, prepared and delivered Presentation, prepared meeting minutes. As owner of the DDF Guidance Notes Documents I have to adhere to stringent company change management policies since these documents notify the changes in DDF layout. Nationwide The DDF Guidance Notes assisted BTcellnet transmission planning, with accurate up-to-date records of the latest equipment that has been installed in the network. Rolled out RSN, Wireless Gateway, echo cancellors (verity) MGX, BPX onto the guidance notes. |
1997-2000 BT Customer Network Solutions Croydon Surrey Project Manager (Core network planning, design and infrastructure build) Key member of major Customer Account Team. I was responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of various network solutions. Assist BT Account Teams and Bid Managers for maintaining customer accounts or biding for new business. 1988-1997 BT CNO City of London Field Technician Joined British Telecom as a T11B engineer responsible for the provision of private circuits (voice and data) for business customers. Implemented racks construction and bulk provision of private circuits, coaxial and data cables. Responsible for Customer planning, installation and maintenance of signalling units kilostream plus and megastream circuits with fibre optics, modems, kilostream circuits.
