Project Engineer - PSN Baku, Azerbaijan

My role with this company is to supervise and manage all aspects of engineering projects being completed by BP associated with the BTC pipeline in Azerbaijan and Georgia. I am running project teams, from the preparation of the project risk assessment, bid documents and initial design stage to construction or hand-over to the construction contractor. Working on the any modification or upgrade project executed on the existing pipeline and its associated facilities such as pumping stations, pigging stations and pressure reduction stations. I oversee the Project Management Team which includes a multi-national workforce which extends to include project disciplines like procurement, planning and QA/QC all conforming to the company's ISO 9001 certification. My duties also go beyond the engineering stage into the construction and commissioning stages, when undertaken by the company or the company's approved sub-contractor, which also means instilling a full understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues pertinent to all aspects of the projects. Making sure of implementation of all HSE requirements whenever and wherever required.

Project Engineering Manager - Delta-Afrik Lagos, Nigeria

This role is to supervise and manage all aspects of engineering projects being completed in eastern Nigeria. I a m running of project teams, from the preparation of the project risk assessment, bid documents and initial design stage to construction or hand-over to the construction contractor. Working on the following large projects as the project manager in the Project Management Team on the following projects which included overseeing a multi-national workforce and interfacing with other project disciplines like procurement, planning and QA/QC all conforming to the company's ISO 9001 certification. Also instilling a full understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues pertinent to all aspects of the projects. Making sure of implementation of all HSE requirements whenever, and wherever possible.

OML 58 Upgrade for Total. The project entailed the design for the expansion of three brownfield swamp based facilities. The scope of work consisted of the enlargement of all three facilities to increase the plant through-put. This was achieved by the drilling of seven new wells and connecting them to the existing flow station and treatment centre. An updating of the process facilities was also included to be able to handle the increased production volume.

Usan FPSO for Total. This project was the basic engineering design for the development of this FPSO to operate in West African waters. The duties I undertook was to interface with the main contractor personnel from Doris engineering to link the company's design of the modules and integration of the design into the project as a whole. The particular areas of concern were the design of the HP and LP flare systems, the offloading module, the fiscal metering skid module. The multi-discipline project concerns were my responsibility as well as co-ordination of the interfaces with other modules in conjunction with Doris engineering office in Paris.

EADP Project for Exxon Mobil. This project was the detail engineering design for the Etim Asasa Development Project which is an offshore upgrade project which incorporates two fields and gives the wellhead platforms the ability to have both gas injection and gas lift facilities. The main concern for this platform is to detail the pipelines from the compression platform to the hub of dispersion and onto each of the wellhead platforms where the injection wells are located.

Project Engineer (Piping) - Alan Conroy & Partners , Dubai My duties for this engineering consultancy company was the running of project teams, from the preparation of the bid documents and initial design stage to construction. Working on the following large projects as a project engineer in the Project manager Team on the following projects which included overseeing a multi-national workforce and interfacing with other project disciplines like procurement and planning.

Soorena FSO for Shell Iran. The project entailed the design and renewal of the large bore off-loading pipe work associated with the fiscal metering equipment after over pressurizing problems. This involved visiting the vessel, identifying the area of concern and co-ordinating the engineering design to rectify the problem. Having concluded the design I was responsible for seeing the project through the pre-site construction stage, the installation and commissioning activities offshore. This required interfacing with the fabrication sub-contractor the engineering home office and the client at all levels of the project until hand-over.

Lam 21 for Dragon Oil Turkmenistan . The project entailed the brownfield conversion and upgrade of a single well Caspian sea platform into a platform capable of two-stage separation and pumping facilities to a storage platform. This included the associated sub-sea pipeline. The project involved interfacing between the Middle-East part client and the Turkmenistan client to co-ordinate engineering design, procurement, and construction activities both onshore fabrication and offshore construction. During the construction and commissioning periods I undertook the role of client representative on site.

Mystras and Thalassa FPSO's for SBM West Africa. The projects were concerned the interface of the hull piping and process module hook-up piping. This involved working as the sub-contractors representative on the project both an office based and site based capacity during construction and hook-up. This involved maintaining the client schedule and progress reporting for the duration of the projects to maintain the design activities and the delivery of all deliverables to the client within the allotted period and the co-ordination of the site teams to interface between the client yard fabrication teams, the sub-contractor construction and fabrication teams, and the construction schedule. Throughout the period there was a need to continually co-ordinate between site teams in the Middle-east and two European locations for the client and main contractor office.

Piping Engineer - Atlantic Methanol Co , Equatorial Guinea - My duties for this company was the running of small site based projects from design to construction and commissioning. These changes were in a between commissioning and plant hand-over, then onto full production on a methanol production plant. This includes all aspects of project control from the preparation of work orders, work and test packs during commissioning, to the supervision of local labour and a TCN workforce in design and construction and commissioning environments.

Senior Piping Design Engineer - Tengizchevroil, Kazakhstan - My duties for this company are concerned with giving engineering support to the Field Operations Department. This involves all the necessary engineering required to design, construct, and commission all projects that are implemented to update and increase this large oilfield. The majority of my responsibility is to implement the required work with the assistance of local labour. Major projects included involvement in the sulphur recovery unit expansion, Amine unit revamp and de-bottlenecking and wellhead hook-ups.

Piping Engineer - Aker Engineering, Stord, Norway - My duties on this project are concerned with the interface and co-ordination between the engineering design team responsible for the hull process piping and the interface "hook-up" piping for the process modules on the FPSO Asgard A. This work mainly consisted of the re-design of certain piping systems undertaken in Japan and having to be re-worked in the ship yard during the final construction and commissioning phases prior to meeting the scheduled sea trial dates.

Piping Design Engineer - Bentec, Oslo, Norway - My duties on this project are concerned with the FEED conceptual study and the detail design of high pressure piping for the drilling module on the Oseberg South drilling platform. The major part of the work is the design of the mud, cement, waste gas and oil piping coupled with the design of some utility piping.

Piping Design Engineer - UMOE Oil and Gas, Oslo, Norway - My duties on this project were focused on the design of piping systems in the process modules on the topsides of the platform. The project is a FPU, which is a Floating Production Unit, Troll 'C' being designed for the Norwegian company, Norsk Hydro. The piping is concerned with the first stage separation of oil, water and gas and the storage of these products prior to tanker loading by sub-sea facilities.

Design Engineer - TSKJBonny IslandLNG Project, Nigeria - During a project my duties were dealing with on-site technical queries from sub-contractors and the project home office, and then implementing the required design changes in piping/mechanical disciplines during the construction and commissioning phases. The majority of my work centred on the multi-stage gas compression trains of this LNG plant.

Design Engineer (Piping) - BANOCO, Bahrain - Working between desert oilfield location and head office, duties include the conceptual design study of flow lines between oilfield wellhead and oil/gas separation units including design work on free water knockout units associated with G.O.S.P.S. Also the design of gathering stations and their pumping facilities.

Senior Piping Designer - Zueitina Oil Company, Libya - Working between desert oilfield locations and head office. Tripoli duties included: Conceptual design of flow lines between oilfield wellhead christmas trees; production of manifolds; oil/gas separation units; design of gas plant piping and crude oil batch pumping, including overland pipeline design. Use of AutoCAD Release 12 and supervision of local labour to produce working drawings. On-site supervision of piping construction projects at desert oilfield locations.

Various Positions from completing a draughting apprenticeship with British Leyland to working for Snamprogetti on a Texaco refinery in South Wales. These contracts included working for King Wilkinson in Dubai, for Elf Oil in South Wales, for Kvaerner Engineering in Oslo. There are a number of other positions but mainly in two areas, nuclear engineering and one in the car industry. This is a summary of my early experience and can be expanded upon if required.
