My architecture engagements have included both enterprise architecture and technical/system architecture. As an Enterprise Architect, I was responsible for setting up Enterprise Architecture practice, governance model using TOGAF to assist the development of an IM strategy that is aligned with the business plan. In my technical roles, I have delivered reference architectures for J2EE and other web based solutions to enable e-services initiatives. My core strengths include IM process frameworks/governance models, project management, technical architecture, system integration, analysis, design.

Being an active member of Oracle User Group, I presented papers on Application server security, load balancing and GIS at the annual Oracle user group conference 2007/2005.

Solutions Architect

London

As a solutions architect, I worked on the Enterprise Performance Management solution within Network Rail. I am responsible for delivering the outline solution design (OSD) in alignment with IM’s internal processes. The key responsibilities in this project included:
• Work with leadership team to analyse various performance measures within the company and provide a framework to define, measure and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
• Lead the project team on technical aspects of the project delivery and input into programme manager to assist technology decision making.
• Developing the architecture models using System Architect toolset. The models included UML artefacts (Use Case, Sequence Diagrams), Entity Relationship (Conceptual and logical), Network concept and overall system architecture model.
• Present the OSD (Outline Solution Design) to the Network Rails Design Authority and seek approval.
• Perform data analysis with a view to design interfaces for pulling the performance measurement data from external systems like Oracle ERP (HRMS, GL and OP).
• Design integrating of various Business objects product components to deliver a coherent solution.

Enterprise Architect

This role was positioned within ‘Office of Head of IT’ and I was responsible for setting up and constituting the EA practice at NHBC. Having been promoted to this position, I undertook following responsibilities:
• Agree and implement the EA group constitution with roles/responsibilities and governance structures. Evaluate ‘best-fit’ EA framework and tools to map and associate 4 core architecture layers (business, data, application and infrastructure).
• Modelled the ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ architecture to identify the gaps and develop an IT roadmap with a well defined architecture portfolio.
• Presentations the companies IT strategy to senior IT Management and the Group Management team and secure the necessary funding for the architectural portfolio.
• Introduce a R&D function within IT for evaluating new technology by way of technical workshops, brain storming sessions.

As a technical architect, I was responsible for designing and enhancing the technical architecture for the companies largest multi-million pounds legacy replacement programme. Some of my tasks included:
• Delivering the reference technical architecture and blueprint for the re-development project.

• Initiate and project manage highly technical PoC (Proof of Concept) projects for proving new technology & defining standards before it gets widely used within the development projects.
