| Overview: | My broad education within art, design and the media means that I have a competent knowledge of various practices including graphic design, web design, fine art, photography, filmmaking, sound and fashion design, but also my passion and drive for graphic design and creative imagery shines through strongly in the work I produce. I completed a degree in photography because not only has it trained my eye further in looking at and creating very strong imagery but also the specific course I did allowed me to take modules in graphic design, visual communication, web design, film and sound. This has given me an overall understanding and highly competent knowledge of various practices within the art and design industry. My artistic training allows me to look at briefs creatively and technically and my eye for colour, texture, composition and weighting allows me to produce graphic work of the highest standard. I work fast and thoughtfully and am incredibly competent at setting goals and keeping to deadlines. I am very adaptable and polite, with excellent communication skills and have the drive to further my work as much as possible and to work as an individual or within a group. | |

| I have also had experience within a design company, where I was trained to use various software at industry standard to produce graphic imagery. I am very competent with current imaging software and IT, including Adobe Photoshop, Creative Suite, Adobe In Design, Adobe Illustrator, Total Cad, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Flash, Quark Express, Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Lightroom, and am able to use Macs and PCs to a highly competent level. I learn how to use new software and updates within these quickly and efficiently. I am also trained in technical drawing; such as orthographic sketches. ScunthorpeThis was initially a 1 week work experience, but I was then taken on for a longer period due to my enthusiasm and to complete the work I began at this company. The company dealt mainly with refrigeration systems for large supermarket chains, and the corporate imagery they required. I was trained as a graphic designer and I was also trained to use technical drawing software, various Adobe products, how to use design sheets, and how to create 3D visuals of the items being designed to show to the customer. I was also taught various different aspects of admin and secretarial work.
