My commercial background and marketing knowledge and expertise has benefited my employers in the following ways:
•I have recently led my team through a restructure of the units. I have performance managed my teams through an open, transparent approach to line management and through using the processes available to me such as capability, disciplinary, recruitment and selection, staff development and one to one supervision.
•I recently led Calderdale College through an FE Maximize inspection/audit which was part of a pilot project driven by the national LSC. I was one of four marketing managers to take part. The audit found the marketing strategy to be sound and that innovative work was being carried out.
•For several employers I have undertaken both quantitative and qualitative market research. I have also commissioned market research.
• I have had extensive experience of database marketing. I have developed models, for example to identify future high-spending customers in the new customer database, providing them with a fast-track route to top-customer status, leading to substantial increase in return on investment.
•I have strong communication skills.
•As a member of the Equal Opportunities Steering Group I have written and produced a Gender Equality Scheme, co-managed Diveristy projects, delivered equality and diversity training and co-led the implementation of Impact Assessment.
