2003 – 2008 Partnership Manager/Project Manager, Redrow Homes (North West)
Stamford Brook Development
A development of some 800 residential properties and commercial units built on National Trust Land.
Through working with Leeds Metropolitan University and The National Trust on the Stamford Brook Altrincham project, I developed an excellent understanding of the challenges the industry faces in meeting the Government’s target of zero carbon homes by 2016.
Partners in Innovation
Through the development phases I participated in a 'Partners in Innovation' project to look at improving the energy efficiency of masonry dwellings working alongside Leeds Metropolitan University and the Department for Communities and Local Government (previously ODPM).
The scheme demonstrates what is achievable on a commercial scale by volume house builders. The Partners in Innovation steering group has a number of leading representatives from the construction industry who advise and support the ongoing programme and form a useful link to influencing DCLG.
I worked with both developer and The National Trust to ensure a triple bottom line approach balancing environmental, community and financial needs was achieved both in the construction and end project.

New East Manchester
Leading Redrow Homes involvement in the New East Manchester Regeneration sector including
Securing through presentations and appraisal a large sector of regeneration area including both New Build Housing, Regeneration and commercial sectors.
Following appointment as developer for this area I set the task of appraising and appointing Masterplanners to bring forward an adoptable Masterplan again working with Partners within the area.

Through both schemes I have learnt to recognise the importance of community engagement, and have enjoyed working with community groups, local authorities, ward councillors as well as the general public. I am a highly committed and motivated individual and relish working as part of a team.

Skills & Experience
Project Management
As Partnership Manager for Redrow Homes, I was responsible for:
• ensuring appropriate departments and external consultants worked proactively to an overall goal
• briefing directors and other managers of key issues that required senior level input
• chairing project meetings
• liaison between external agencies such as local authorities, including Planning, Highways, Area Services and Parks & Countryside departments
• Affluent in Eco Homes, Code for Sustainable Homes and Homes for Life

Achieving energy efficiency standards above current Part L Building Regulations
The houses at Stamford Brook were built to enhanced energy efficiency standards above current Building Regulation standards. I worked closely with Leeds Metropolitan University who led the project, together with other project partners in:
• the ongoing revision and development of robust details
• researching products, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with the specification
• developing and delivering training for sales staff, sub contractors and site managers
• carrying out air pressurisation testing of completed dwellings to check compliance with agreed contractual standards

Community Consultation
I have carried out extensive community consultation to keep residents informed of current developments. Together with Partners, I was responsible for:
• managing and delivering a programme of community consultation and engagement including organising open meetings
• acting as a key contact for members of the public and responding to enquiries
• assisting in the production of newsletters designed to keep local residents and stakeholders informed of current progress

Public Relations
I believe Public Relations to be a strong business tool to be used at every opportunity
I was involved with:
• delivering a presentation at the Constructing Excellence Group Modern Methods of Construction
• working with journalists from trade and mainstream publications
• organising and leading tours of the site to groups including delegates from the Sustainable Communities Summit, and the Minister for Environment and Climate Change

Technical Manager
Running a team of Technicians and engineers within the residential arena to provide full architectural services from conception to completion.
