I am an experienced interim manger, consultant and qualified project manager, operating in the public sector. I am able to hit the ground running and deliver complex projects to tight timescales and to the required level of quality.

I have gained this expertise, through delivering a number of integration/ restructuring Projects across the public, sector through being a member of team of four who established a Connexions Partnership, through heading up a London Borough Youth Service and managing Connexions Services for a Limited Partnership. I have also negotiated and managed large IAG contracts with Careers Companies, managed the reintegration of Connexions Services into two London Boroughs and sat on 14-19 strategy groups for three London Boroughs.

In addition, I have been involve in the development of a number of Children’s Trusts, project managed the development of Integrated and Targeted Youth Support Services and program managed Integrated Working across a London Borough’s Children’s Services Department and across external partners such as Police, Health and the Voluntary Sector. I have also project managed the rollout of CAF, Lead Professionals, Workforce Development, and ContactPoint preparation at Borough level.

Through developing the requirement specification for the Central Children and Young People’s Database and Case Management System, I have gain a detailed understanding of the business processes of Education Welfare, Education Psychology, SEN, Admissions and other Pupil Support Services.

Managing the multi-agency Integrated Working Programme across the LA’s Children’s Services department, Health, Police and the Voluntary Sector. This contract included a number of projects:

• Workforce development of the multi-agency Children’s Workforce

Interim Head of Youth and Connexions

London

Initially managing an integrated Youth and Connexions Service with 120 staff and a budget of £4,000,000.

Managing the re-absorption of the IAG Commissioning responsibility (Connexions) into the London Borough of Camden from the Borough perspective.

Project managing the development of and then taking on the role of, Head of the Integrated Youth Support Service. The new service incorporates Youth Work, Connexions and Youth Offending Work.

Regularly deputising for the London Borough of Camden’s Director of the Central London Connexions Partnership Limited.

Regularly deputising for the Assistant Director of Children’s Services: Access and Inclusion.

Liaising with Government Office for London, DfES (Now DCSF), and Elected Members.

Working with DCSF on the National Youth Opportunities Card.

Connexions Strategic Manager

The London East Connexions Partnership, London

Working across ten London Boroughs, with specific responsibility for heading up the Connexions Service in Tower Hamlets; controlling a budget of £3,660,000; managing and negotiating contracts with partnership agencies; managing the joint commissioning of services; taking a Pan East London lead on the development of Millennium Volunteers (MV) and Chairing the East London Millennium Volunteer Strategy Group; feeding in Sub-Regionally to the development of Children’s Trusts, and Skill Sector Development; representing LECP at the London East Learning Skills Council; managing the transition of Connexions services into the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Children’s and Young People’s Services and negotiating the inclusion of Connexions funding in the Tower Hamlets Local Area Agreement (LAA).

Managing the transfer of responsibility of commissioning IAG from the East London Connexions Partnership to The London Borough of Tower Hamlets and managed the resulting tupe-transfer process.

Sitting on, the Youth Offending Team Board, The Persistent and Prolific Offenders Board, The Substance Misuse Steering Group and Joint Commissioning Group, the Voluntary Sector Providers Forum, the 14 to 19 Strategy Group, the Looked after Children Steering Group, the Leaving Care Steering Group, the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership, the Disabled Children’s Partnership Group, the Education Business Partnership, the Children’s Trust Joint Commissioning and Early Intervention Steering Groups. I have fed into the strategic plans for all of these bodies.

Responsibility for a service with 37 Staff: Line management responsibility for 12 Staff and contractual responsibility for the work of an additional 25 staff through subcontracting an element of service delivery.
Facilitating the Bexley Connexions Partnership Group, Managing the Connexions Service Bexley, managing a budget of £2.6 million. Contract management and negotiation. Facilitating the Local Connexions Partnership Group. Representing LECP on the Bexley Education Business Partnership, the 14 to 19 Education Strategy Group, the Head Teachers Forum, the Community Safety Partnership, the Teenage pregnancy Partnership and various partnership agency Steering Groups.

Responsibility for a service with 32 Staff: line management responsibility for 12 Staff and contractual responsibility for the work of an additional 20 staff through subcontracting an element of service delivery.
