CV
| I'm 27 and have worked in the industry for around 10 years, I started out working in design at 17 for a web design studio based just outside Marbella, where I was tutored pretty much one to one every day by their creative director, I decided that the hands on experience I would get, plus one to one tutoring would outweigh the benefits of studying design at university. It was a tough decision but I decided to stick with it and was headhunted a year and a half later by an advertising/media agency called Marbellalife, that also worked with sister company Versatile TV. This was primarily web based, but after I started working we moved into print and branding, as well as television work. I worked my way through the ranks there for two years, then I was approached by an advertising agency that had moved to the coast called Smoke Signal. Here I was put in charge of three other designers, and took on the role of senior designer, we were a team of 10 so not a very large agency but we were closeknit and gained some large contracts. We re-branded La Perla Living, one of the coasts largest property developers of high quality builds, that are based in Holland. I personally took on production of the launch of Monte Mayor, a golf and country club. I developed the campaign, which also consisted of a lovely coffee table style brochure, I also got to art direct my first brochure. I started my own agency in 2002 as I felt I needed to branch out by myself, however this may have been a rash decision at 22 but it definitely taught me a lot of valuable lessons, the company was around for about 6 months, and then I decided that I didn't want to be in management yet, I still wanted more experience hands-on. I moved to the UK and had to find a job asap, a family contact put me in touch with a company called CTAD (Cambridge Training and Development) who have now been taken over by Tribal. They are a company that specialise in learning materials. I worked here for the last 3-4 years. My job was to engage disengaged learners, what better way to do it, than to produce material that didn't make them think they were actually studying or learning in the traditional sense. The design work tended to take a back seat in managements eyes, so after fighting the good fight, I believe I managed to drag some of them into the 21st century design-wise, but decided to pursue my other work, it was time for me to take on my freelance clients full time. I now freelance full time. I have clients from a large swathe of sectors, from real estate to the movie industry. I am currently working for a lot of clients in the movie industry, which is a great passion of mine, as you get to exercise your conceptual muscles, coming up with concepts, working with the director/production team, getting your assets shot and then working it up to a final, fantastic. I also work with Revolver Entertainment in Notting Hill, who are pretty well known in the industry. I am also finishing up a re-brand of a London real estate agents in the Docklands. My clients have included - Play.com, Revolver Entertainment, Instinctive Film, Antibody Films, McDonalds, SEED, LSC, Get On, Move On amongst many others, which also consist of invidual actors in the movie industry like Daniel Gillies and Rachel Leigh Cook. |

Head of Design
CambridgeTRIBAL CTAD are a company that dedicates itself to producing educational software and printed material for people with learning difficulties and disabilities. I was in charge of overall quality and design of all the material we produce. The design was a bit dated and I felt that if we needed to re-engage disengaged learners it was essential that we create more visually stimulating design. My challenge was to try and get the software and design teams to work as one. They had been working on a functionality basis for years ‘if it works, it doesn’t need to look pretty’ They are now producing good quality design that is infinitely more visually engaging than previous work and is also functional. I made huge strides towards applying this approach to all of the products they develop.
