Responsible for all Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehousing and Distribution operations across all commodity areas within BCT with an operating budget of £5m.
Development of sourcing strategies for major expenditure and commodity areas to allow more cost effective procurement, range standardisation and quality assurance.
Management of a worldwide supplier base and development of that supplier base in a proactive and cost effective manner across key and strategic contractors, consultants and suppliers.
Responsible for management of stock levels for all procured commodities against agreed levels of forecasted sales activity.
Promotion and management of all Procurement and Supply Chain activity to ensure that they are commensurate with cost down initiatives/value engineering activities.
Responsible for all customer facing Supply Chain management and operational activities into UK retailers, Homebase, Tesco, Focus and Topps Tiles to ensure customer specific management on all product availability, New Product Introduction aswell as promotional and seasonal activity.
Management of all Nationwide Distribution and Warehousing operations through both in-house warehousing function and 3PL suppliers.
Development and publishing of Procurement and Supply Chain protocols and procedures to facilitate consistent levels of professionalism and standards of working throughout the function and Company.
Introduction and management of all Key Performance Indicators across all pertinent areas of measurable performance within BCT to ensure both internal and external maintenance of performance to contract.

Supply Chain Manager

Responsible for the end to end Supply Chain for all cooked food product of chicken, duck, prawn and dim Sum, imported from the Far East for use within the Retail, manufacturing and Food service sectors of the UK and European markets with a total turnover of £80m.
Management of all logistical relationships within the Supply Chain to ensure that all customer requirements are met in full at lowest cost.
Full responsibility for all third party storage and distribution elements of the business with current levels of 10000 pallets at a frozen level with an annual budget of £20m.
Management of all third party packing operations for the business across both chilled and frozen sectors for Retail and Foodservice customers/markets.
Responsible for the successful “Category Captaincy” of the Sainsbury’s chilled Party Range for Christmas 2005 and 2006 covering all suppliers and a £10m turnover category.
Direct management of 5 members of staff with a further 5 indirect reports.

Josiah Wedgwood & Sons

Responsible for the procurement of all Raw Materials and Print and Point of Sale materials within Josiah Wedgwood & Sons with an annual budget of £40m on a worldwide basis.
Establishment of key supplier relationships to ensure procurement of materials and services are in line with customer requirements and Divisional and Global strategies.
Development of functional strategy to deliver strategic cost down initiatives with a resultant savings of £750,000 in 2004 across the full Commodity area through a variety of Value Engineering activities.
Responsible for introduction of Supplier Quality Assurance into Josiah Wedgwood & Sons.
Responsibility for the training and development of the Procurement team.
Responsible for managing cross-divisional Commodity teams with Waterford Crystal (Republic of Ireland) and Rosenthal (Germany) to deliver global procurement benefits.
Direct management of a team of two Commodity Managers and a full time administrator.

Responsibility for the day to day logistical communication between Glanbia and major retailers with an overall aim of meeting the needs of those customers whilst optimising operational efficiencies
Relationship building to develop a true partnership with customers; championing customer logistical issues to a satisfactory conclusion that delivers mutual cost saving benefits to both parties
Cost savings achieved for Glanbia for 2002 totalling £300,000 through both generic and bespoke Value Engineering initiatives.

Responsible for the purchasing and inventory management of all cycles to maintain the customer offer
Improved on shelf availability from 90% to 97% with an associated increase in sales of £900,000.
Accountable for managing the deployment of stock effectively to maximise sales and profit by planning and implementing marketing initiatives whilst maintaining stock value budgets and stock turn targets. Accountable for an annual spend of £12 million.
Promotion, support and implementation of Supply Chain best practice within the Cycle Supply team to ensure a consistent approach.
Development and enhancement of supplier relationships through performance monitoring and Supply Chain evaluation.
This role had responsibility for managing one member of staff.

Royal Worcester

Responsible for all materials being purchased in accordance with production demands
Maintaining maximum flexibility but with minimum stock holding
Accountable for a budgeted spend of £4 million, within both the United Kingdom and European markets
Responsible for the receipt, storage and materials management of all incoming goods
Instigated a programme of Supplier rationale and the establishment of closer working relationships and mutual development between Royal Worcester and all major suppliers. Participation in the installation of a bespoke purchasing and stock control software system within Royal Worcester’s MRP system.
Responsible for the management of ten employees.

Senior Production Planner March 1985-Dec 1989
Responsible for the scheduling and processing of ceramic ware through all production departments from raw materials to finished goods in a flow production, piecework environment.
This role had responsibility for two members of staff.

Golf; handicap of 18, member of Woodbury Park Golf & Country Club, Devon.
Sailing; started sailing from the age of 8 in GP14’s, very keen on yacht racing and cruising.
Rallying; active competitor within National BTRDA Championships, Club Champion Co-Driver, managed a Team for 2 years within the British National Tarmac Championship, now retired after 15 years.
Cricket; played for Kays Cricket Club in Worcester (a subsidiary of GUS at the time) managed the team in terms of fixtures, finances and Cricket Tours for 15 years.
Squash, keen enthusiast.
Travelling; I have travelled extensively throughout the World for both business and pleasure.
