Online CICS screens are available to facilities and regional head offices to browse / manage patient and other related data. All applications are coded in COBOL. DB2 and VSAM act as backend. KBC developed two new systems for over 1300 branches in Europe for creating loan (home, personal, advance tax, overdraft) and lease (leasing, renting) application. These applications consist of three modules:
•Java based GUI front end module used by branch employees to register the loan/lease applications
•IMS DC based online screens used by head offices to browse/manage the applications
•Nightly batch cycle for generating various types of reports, generating confirmation letters for clients, updating database, generating XML files for GUI based front end and so on
