I’m working closely with key stakeholders, systems development managers and programme managers to create strategies to enhance/improve functionality and usability. This has involved; content analysis, editorial judgement experience of Oracle content management systems, metadata, taxonomy, content audits, content plans and Wire frames Ministry of Defence - Film Locations The Ministry of Defence utilises its surplus and unused estate to generate income through the Wider Markets initiative by allowing the film location industry to film on the Defence Estates. Having assessed their existing website, I established that it would be more economical and practical to build and migrate to a new site from scratch rather than try and upgrade or update the existing one. The new site had to be image based rather than text, although it must incorporate metadata to allow a category key word search and be under direct editorial control. My responsibilities included working closely with the marketing department and stakeholders to develop and install a web content management system, and assemble the site. Here I used a number of key words, metadata and taxonomy to get best results. Ministry of Defence - Disposal Services Authority For over the past few years I have been web project manager for the edisposals website for the Disposal Services Authority - a branch of Ministry of Defence. This system is the first operational e-commerce web site for the Ministry of Defence and is groundbreaking in a raft of security, technology and usability issues.
