I am Apprenticeship served at Richards Shipyard Gt. Yarmouth 1975 / 79, attended Polytechnic College gained full City & Guilds. I Started in Oil / Gas Industry in 1979, combined Fabrication / Pipefitting since 79, later qualified to ASME IX Pipe Welder.After 10 years in the practical Side of the industry I progressed onto the Supervisory/Management side (89), of which has been my main employ in the years since then.
I am experienced in most aspects of the Oil & Gas Industry, from Fabrication to installation (H.U.C) Surveys to maintenance, Flowlines to risers and much more on request.

Project Manager

Malongo, Angola

I am currently employed as Project Manager for Petromar Saipem Angola on a $200 million GTAI De-Bottlenecking Project for Chevron and Cabinda Gulf Oil Company. (CabGoc) This is spread out over 4 Platforms in the Takula Field, Offshore in Angola.
My main duty is to manage & coordinate all construction activities, implement performance measures and milestone targets, prepare daily & weekly progress reports, carry out site inspections, ensure that Risk assessments are performed by HSE, carry out audits on QA/QC, Material Management & Procurement. Trouble shoot potential productivity & construction problems, Liaise with Client Engineers & reporting directly to Chevron HUC Manager to ensure construction targets are met and maintained to the client’s specifications in a timely and safe manner. Responsible for a mixed workforce of around 200, all trades, both nationals and expats.

Mechanical Piping Surveyor

Duties: Dimensional and Material Surveys, both Offshore and Onshore of Piping systems. Reports and drawings complete with M.T.O’s / B.O.M’s, Classification and Specification requirements are produced.Flowlines and Structural Surveys are also included in my scope of work. The contract is for the Field maintenance Department (FMS) of ExxonMobil QIT Nigeria.

Fabrication Manager

Onne-Nigeria

Duties: The set up of a Fabrication facility in Onne, Nigeria to enable the Manufacture of Sub-sea Well Jumper Production Flowlines and injection lines. The Production Jumpers were of Super Duplex which needed a contamination free environment during the fabrication and welding process. I was responsible for all aspects of the fabrication, inspection, testing and traceability with a successful load out of the first Well Jumpers manufactured at the Onne Facility. The Project was for ExxonMobil ERHA EPC2 Development Project.

Suffolk Petroleum Services Limited,, Rivers State, Nigeria

April 2004 to August 2004 & April 2005 to October 2005
Duties; To Co-ordinate the efficient running of the Ibeno Fabrication Yard in Nigeria for the current Exxon Mobil FMS/FMV(Projects) Contracts, ensuring Quality and Traceability with ISO 9001: 2000. We fabricate Flowlines for new and replacement wells and most other piping systems associated with the offshore industry also Boat landings, Access platforms, Containers and Modules (PAU). Reporting directly to the Exxon Mobil Superintendent Daily and to all Area planners weekly. Method statements, BJSA’s, Daily Reports and Computer Literate.

Piping Supervisor

Stone & Webster Asia Inc., Nanjing

Duties: Included Punch Killing of Piping Systems on Ethylene Unit BCC Chemical Plant, Inspecting works carried out by Chinese contractors and giving instruction on outstanding works required for Mechanical completion ready for start-up. I was responsible for up to 18 systems and for the work carried out by 1 General Foreman, 4 foremen and sixty + Tradesmen. The procurement of materials required to carry out the work (correct Specification and quantities etc). Keeping Database records up to date and using Rightsite software to Locate Isometrics, P&ID’s and Line Spec’s etc.- Computer literate.
Project: BASF, BCC Ethylene Project, Chemical Plant, Nanjing, PRC, (CHINA).

Piping Supervisor

Scopus Engineering Limited, Aberdeen

Duties: Part of a Team Responsible for the Mechanical completion ready for Start-up of The FPSO Barracuda. I was involved with the Punch Killing Contractor ensuring that the Necessary works were carried out to expected standards to promote sign-off and handover. I was also involved with the Gross leak testing, in fact all aspects required for Piping systems completion.
Project: KBR Halliburton, FPSO Barracuda, PetroBras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Seaweld Engineering Services, Norfolk

Duties; Alba Phase II Marathon Oil Equatorial Guinea, Work involved all Hook – up Pipework and Tie-ins, mainly Duplex, associated fabrications, Co-ordination of Materials and Service trades, toolbox talks and safety systems adhered to. Supervision of Multi discipline, Multi National personnel.
Field maintenance contract for Exxon Mobil, Oil & Gas Platforms Nigeria. Work involved all topside maintenance from valve change -outs to fabrication, Hydro testing & installation of new pipe systems. Above waterline Riser repairs & Structural repairs / fabrications carried out. A large part of my work also includes the Survey, fabrication, testing and installation of Flowlines for the new and existing Wells.

Hydrotest Technician

B.J. Nowsco, Norfolk

Jan 96 to Feb96 & May 96 to Nov 96.
Duties; Locate Lines, System Punch listing & Identify test limits, set up for test, pressure test and re-instate system. The testing medium used was mainly water but a mixture of air & nitrogen were also used. Closed system chemical cleaning of some systems was also carried out. The use of retro-jetting High pressure water & foam Pigging were also used to clear piping systems.
Project: FPSO Petrojarl Foinhaven at Astano Shipyard, Ferrol, Spain.
