CNC Operator / Setter

From February 2004 to date

I'm currently a CNC Operator and Setter at this company.

The company manufactures engine heads and other engine parts, mainly for TVR, CAT, Mclarren and Rover.

I'm working mainly on a Mazak Mezatrol Turning station with PC Fusion software.

It is multi station machines.

We make use of MAPAL and Sheffcut high precision boring bars.

I'm also exposed to older versions of the machine software, which is currently running on other machines.

Conventional Turner

From October 2003 to December 2003

I was a conventional turner at this company.

I manufactured parts for pumps.

I was on contract there and it was my first job in the UK.

Process expert

From January 1998 to July 2003

I did the following at this company during the time I worked there.

Stripping and fitting of bearings on work rolls and back-up rolls.

Stripping and fitting of components on bearing casings.

Maintenance of bearings.

Preparing mill rolls for entrance to mill.

Overhead crane driving. (80t)

Grinding of mill rolls on Waldrich Siegen rollgrinders.

Handling all aspects of production around the rollgrinders.

Program the CNC rollgrinders. (ILC1000)

Doing mechanical maintenance on the rollgrinders.

Grinding of mill shear blades on a Göckel surface grinder.

Handling all aspects of production around the surface grinder.

Program the CNC surface grinder.(Setup of parameters)

Doing mechanical maintenance on the surface grinder.

Transport mill rolls by means of a truck. (Horse and trailer)

Supervise and coordinate work to be done on the shift.

Monitor defects on rolls by means of the Lismar. (Ultrasonic equipment)

Keep statistics of most activities in the Rollshop.

Use programs such as Office, SAP, Oracle and a few more.

Made suggestions for improvements in the Rollshop.
