2004-Present T.P. Mouldings, Telford, U.K.
Tool Setter/Quality Control/Operator, Injection Moulding, Working with two operators in a cell which is responsible for eight machines that produces small parts for the automotive industry. Duties are to obtain the daily production sheets and ensure the work is carried out and the necessary tooling changes are completed within target times and scrap levels. Other responsibilities are troubleshooting and process related quality control. Hourly quality checks are conducted in accordance with company procedures. This work is eight hour rotating shifts.
2002-2004 Gnoth Plastics Limited, Dublin
Tool Setter/Quality control/Tool design, Extrusions. Shift work, running a small factory. Responsibilities include setting machines with the relevant tool, overseeing production and ensuring close dimensional control of the final product. When the product run finishes my duties include shutting the machine down safely and cleaning the tool ready for the next run. The quality control work involves taking and checking samples against customer-approved sample and process related QA/ troubleshooting. I also produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD when new dies are developed for both customers and precision Engineers. My other responsibilities are shift hand over meetings at the start and end of the shift and shift management when required.
2000 - 2002 Gibbons Engineering Limited, Dublin
Project Engineer/Draughtsman for projects involving Vacuum Systems. Responsible for projects from receipt of order to commissioning on site for projects worth up to IR£1M including all documentation. General arrangement, piping and instrumentation drawings were produced using AutoCAD and control philosophies written and submitted to consultant engineers and the final customer. This involved working to very strict deadlines and budgets as well as working very closely with suppliers and customers. I ran weekly production and project meetings to ensure the team met the final delivery date. My other responsibilities involved being the Site Safety Officer where I co-wrote a health and safety statement and disciplinary/absenteeism procedures.
1998 - 2000 Oswestry and District Helpmates
Volunteer Driver and Helper for a rural community transport scheme driving a 17 seater specially adapted minibus taking elderly and disabled people shopping, to doctors, day care centres and trips. The work would also involve collecting and delivering clients prescriptions and pensions.

1994 - 1998 University of Sheffield: B.Eng (Hons) Materials Science and Engineering. I studied Polymers, Metals and Ceramics but other courses undertaken were High Performance Glasses and Polymer Composites.
1990 - 1994 North Shropshire College: BTEC First and National Diplomas in Engineering. The course was heavily electronics based with extra courses in Technical Drawing, Science and Materials.
1985 - 1990 Oswestry School: 8 passes at G.C.S.E including Maths, English, Geography and Sciences
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Mould mounting course with crane operators certificate to be completed in January.
- I was in charge of all aspects of Gibbons Engineering's Health and Safety, which included instructing all new and existing employees about Health and Safety Issues. This also involved dealing with the Health and Safety Authority when inspections were due.
- Experienced in using AutoCAD release 14 and 2000 and have drawn in 2D and 3D formats as well as other Microsoft packages such as Adobe, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- I have been a member of the Institute of Materials Since 1994 and currently applying for Incorporated Engineer status, which is now at final interview stage, to be held in January.
- I am experienced in driving large passenger carrying minibuses and have a full clean driving licence held since 1993 with the provisional for a 53 seat coach
