Position: Purchasing Manager

· Currently deal with all new requirements, contract additions and amendments to the Airwave project dealing with contracts from £5k in value to £120M

· Negotiate all T&C's with suppliers in respect of a very wide range of contracts (Mostly Classified)

· Full knowledge of EU purchasing procedures, also S-Cat and G-Cat

· Work to EU purchasing governance from initial requirement, through to taking the lead and running of tenders from cradle to grave inc. drafting of ITT & Contract, through to T & C's negotiation and award, & ongoing management

· Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing value for money

· Deal with a wide variety of end user day to day issues

· Good knowledge of high value PFI contracts inc. passing of risk

NTL - March 2003 - October 2003

Position: Purchasing Manager

· Responsible for providing all commercial support in respect of key contracts that Ntl was bidding for inc. backing off all legal T & C's with key suppliers.

· Negotiated framework contracts with all key suppliers.

Position: IT & Telecomms Purchasing Manager (£55M Budget)

· Responsible for a small team for the placement of all strategic IT & Telecomms contracts

· Ensured compliance with all corporate purchasing procedures

· Led multifunctional teams including supervising all external bidding processes, from supplier selection, through to contract negotiation / award and ongoing management

· Provide users with seamless end-to-end purchasing support, acting as first point of contact for all contractual matters inc. negotiating all contract T & C's

· Developed genuine long term supplier partnerships to improve service delivery levels

· Sourced all new suppliers inc Vehicle Fleet, Facilities Management such Cleaning, Catering, Security, Facilities Management, Mobiles, IT Hardware & Software, Telecomms, Healthcare, Furniture, HR agencies etc

· Implemented and managed service delivery contracts for all of the above suppliers, proactively dealing with contractual and day to day purchasing issues

· Dealt with all day to day purchasing issues in relation to the Facilities Management and running of the new premises, inc ongoing supplier development

· Responsible for sourcing office and building suppliers to provide a £2m office fit out for the company to hold 350 people in less than 2 months, inc total re-fit and space planning

· Left due to the company moving from the 'City' to Hammersmith.

ARCHER COMMUNICATIONS - November 1997 - July 2000

Position: Corporate Purchasing Manager

· Joined start up company, successfully sourced and developed entire supply chain

· Led a small purchasing team who were solely responsible for selection and development of key suppliers and executing tenders covering vehicle fleet, office re-fit, facilities management, furniture, catering, cleaning, vending, mobiles, telecoms, IT, travel, etc

· Worked alongside Facilities Manager to assist in the day to day FM support dealing with service and contractual issues

· Responsible for sourcing suppliers for a multi-million pound refurbishment of two office buildings for 600 staff

· Pro actively managed suppliers & developed good long term relationships

· Proficient and effective project management experience, proven on time delivery

· Consistently improved business efficiencies, outsourcing services where appropriate.

· Developed & Implemented purchasing procs. and ensured ongoing corporate compliance

· Gained a wide knowledge of business suppliers & associated FM contract management

· Left due to company closure

SMITHS INDUSTRIES - September 1996 - November 1997

Position: Purchasing Manager

· Key responsibility to reduce costs in the aerospace fuel system division by £1.2m

· Efficiently and effectively led eight person multi-functional project team reviewing overheads & design costs

· Renegotiated contracts & reviewed 'make' versus 'buy', to cut losses by £500k p/a then outsourced production to reduce the losses by a further £500k.

· Left due to company relocating to Cheltenham

NTL - 94- September 1996

Position: Corporate Buyer

· Then promoted to Corporate Buyer working with multi-functional groups to deliver all Corporate services across 50 sites nationwide Inc Vehicle Fleet (10,000 units), IT & Telecomms, Travel, Catering, Facilities, & Utilities

· Worked as lead buyer to roll out 1100 T-Mobile transmission towers (£56M project).

· Left to take on management role

START SPELLMAN - 1993 - 1994

Position: Buyer

· Responsible for all purchasing initiatives in the company

· Left to gain more experience
