Gained some HAZOP experience too. |
1995 - 1996 | Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at South Bank University, London. (Part-time) Teaching 2nd year undergraduates on the role of computers and the use of simulation packages (HYSIM, Phoenics) in chemical engineering. |
EDUCATION HISTORY
1996 - 2000 | Imperial College, London. PhD in Chemical Engineering:'Coalescence and Filtration of Emulsions using Fibres.' The thesis describes a 'novel' technique for the separation of selected oil in water emulsions using aramid fibres in the form of woven fabric. This system is based on the principle of the fibrous bed coalescer. |
Skills gained: | Ø Competent use of various laboratory equipments and theoretical techniques. Ø Excellent communication & time management skills. Ø Valuable logic reasoning skills. |
1992 - 1995 | South Bank University, London. BEng (Hons), Chemical Engineering - First Class Subjects included: Process Systems Engineering, Separation Processes, Process Dynamics & Control, Project Management, Mathematics, Economics, Computing and Hazards & Safety. Final year Design project - Manufacture of Methyl tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE). Final year Research project - Vapour-Liquid Equilibria |
Skills gained: | Ø Application of Chemical Engineering Principles. Ø High level of Problem Solving Ability including strong analytical mind. Ø Team Work - Successful completion of the final year design project depended on the co-operation and the active participation of each individual in our group, which comprised of 9 students. Regular team meetings enabled us to work together effectively and ensured we met the project deadline. |
1988 - 1992 | Rutlish High School, Watery Lane, London SW19. 'A' Levels: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. GCSE: Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Computer studies, Biology. City & Guilds: Basic Electronics, Digital Electronics. |
ACHIEVEMENTS
Ø Awarded a three year Scholarship by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to undertake this study (1996-1999).
Ø Winner of the 1995 School of Applied Science Best Research Project award.
