Career Summary

AMEC - Planning Technical Assistant Feb 2004 - Sept 2005

Employed as a Technical Assistant in the planning department during the hook up of the Bonga FPSO, offshore Nigeria. The position involves having sole responsibility for the day-to-day updating of JMS (Jobcard Management System) as well as limited updating of the Primavera P3 database, which in turn provides up-to-date information as to the current progress of all work involved in the project. Also responsible for compiling weekly progress reports for offshore and onshore management as well as compiling a weekly spreadsheet, used to call forward all materials required for the upcoming week from the onshore forward stores.

MPI Aviation - Aircraft Airframe Technician Nov 2003 - Feb 2004

Employed as an Airframe technician on a military contract carrying out planned maintenance and strip downs of Tornado F3 aircraft in preparation for operational deployment to the Falkland Islands. This included disassembling and removing the wings, tail fin and all associated hydraulic and mechanical components to facilitate the aircraft fitting into a transport aircraft to be flown to its operational base.

AMEC - Technical Assistant Sept 2003 - Nov 2003

Employed as a technical assistant on the B.P Miller Platform during the Braemar Project. Primarily taken on to the project to assist the Field Team Leader in working out and implementing new crew change rotas which also involved liaising with the logistics personnel onshore to keep them informed of any changes in the man power requirements. As a secondary duty, I was tasked with assisting in the continuous updating of the J.M.S, recording all man-hours expended and percentage of completion for each specific job associated with the Braemar Project. Also tasked with compiling a detailed log for the Construction Manager of all lost time during the whole of the project from start to finish for both AMEC personnel and all vendors employed on the Braemar Project.

AMEC - Technical Assistant May 2003 - Aug 2003

Employed as a Technical Assistant on the Britannia Platform during the installation and upgrade of a new M.P. compressor. Working directly for the Construction Superintendent, my primary task was the implementation and day to day to updating of the J.M.S. This involved keeping an up to date record of all expended and remaining man-hours as well as the percentage of completion, of every task within the work scopes of the M.P. compressor upgrade. I was also responsible for compiling daily and weekly progress reports for the Construction Superintendent as well as liaising with the Project coordinator onshore in any matters regarding the J.M.S. My job also included assisting various trades with their daily tasks on the platform. Some of these tasks included assisting in the fitment of cable trays and routing of electrical cables as well as assisting the Pipe Fitters and Bolting Technicians in fitting the pipe work needed to install a new Firewater Deluge system and other pipe work associated with the M.P. compressor upgrade. In doing these tasks I gained hands on experience in the use of the 'Hedley Purvis' bolt tightening / tensioning equipment.

MPI Aviation - Aircraft Airframe Technician April 2003 - May 2003

Employed as an Airframe Technician on a short term Military contract carrying out planned second line maintenance of Tornado F3 aircraft. This involved the stripping down and repair / replacement of various life-ex or faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components as well as some structural modifications to both primary and secondary structural components.

Royal Air Force -Aircraft Airframe Technician Aug 1990 - April 2003

Employed as an Airframe Technician working as part of a ten man second line servicing team carrying out planned, in-depth servicing and rectification work on multiple fast jet aircraft operating systems. This involved the maintenance, replacement and functional testing of high/low pressure hydraulic, oxygen and pneumatic systems as well as being responsible for the repair and replacement as necessary of all of the aircraft's mechanical components, with all of the work being carried out to a very high specification, within tight tolerances and always with a safety aspect first and foremost. As well as second line maintenance, a considerable part of my career was spent at 1st line Squadron level carrying out day to day fault finding and rectification / maintenance work on operational Tornado F3 aircraft as well as Puma and Chinook helicopters, operating globally, often at short notice and for extended periods of time.
