· Responsible to the Engineering Manager for the design & development involving hands on design of special purpose machinery.

· Modifying standard labelling machinery to customer specifications.

· Problem solving internally and externally, occasional travel in the UK.

· Project Management skills.

· Able to Design from a clean sheet.

· Produce concepts and modification of equipment using CADKEY 3D solid modelling software.

· Self motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for small industrial machines and guarding.

· Taken on to strengthen the Design team to redesign the companies budget NV 2 labelling machine to make it more cost effective and marketable, selling over 40 machines in 2 years.

· This has involved some overseas travel, site surveys & customer visits.

· Responsible for producing a detailed design specification from a sales order.

· Used Autocad to produce assembly drawings, detail drawings,layouts and parts lists for the production department.

· Experience of SB-client AVANTI communications package.

· Equipment worked on includes Bagmakers, Flavour Drums, Flavour Feeders, Conveyors, Stores, Auger Fillers, Volumetric Fillers, Pack off Tables, Steelwork Structures and Large Turnkey Projects.

· Designed a Flavour System for Walkers Crisps in Leicester England.

· Designed a Flavour System for Lays a leading snack food manufacturer in the USA.

Position Held : TEAM LEADER / PACKAGING OPERATOR

· Initially taken on as a packaging operator in the chocolate factory for a temporary night shift due to increased demand for the company's white chocolate products. Promoted to position of Team Leader after 4 weeks.

· Leading a team of up to 8 operators on various types of packaging machinery.

· Setting up and terminating shifts, setting up packaging machinery, Ishida weighers, calibrating Best check weighers, changing foil & printer tapes on Sandiacre packaging machines.

· Maintaining the required level of production as well as a quality product to BS 5750 standard.

Jan 1989 - May 1991 ADE HML Engineering Ltd : Aircraft Ground Support Equipment

· Responsible to the Drawing Office Manager for the Design and Development of Specialist ground support equipment for the aircraft industry civil and military.

· Vehicles worked on include Low Pressure Airstarters, Ground Power Units, Frequency converters, Toilet Service Units, Passenger Stairs, Towbars & Hydraulic Test Trolleys.

· Preparation of GA Drawings, Detail Drawings, Bills of Material, Manufacturing Instructions and relevant paperwork for a MRP2 computer system.

· Experience of Engine / Alternator Sets, Engine / Compressor Sets,Motor / Alternator Sets, Fuel Systems, Exhaust Systems, Acoustic Enclosures, Canopies, Vehicle Modifications, Tanks and Chassis in predominantly a sheetmetal / fabrication enviroment.

· I have also done some PDS work and have an understanding of MOD procedures to AQUAP 1.
