· EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Commissioning/Process Engineer for COPA MBR Technology (full time) May 2003 - Current

· On-site process commissioning for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants in the UK, Ireland and South Africa, incorporating:

Ø Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for software.

Ø Inspecting construction for quality and function.

Ø Onsite I/O checks of PLC and MCC (including for profibus sites)

Ø Training of operations staff, as well as general training for managerial staff

Ø Working with automation team advising of modifications required to software

Ø Commissioning MBR plant items; valves, actuators, blowers and pumps

Ø Setting up instruments including; valve limit switches, pressure switches, flow switches, level sensors/probes/switches, temperature sensors, flow meters, pH meters, DO meters, proximity switches, pressure relief valves, pressure transducers and MLSS monitors

Ø Validating all plant equipment supplied under the contract.

Ø Setting up control for plant optimisation

Ø Seeding and maturation of plants

Ø Consent trial implementation to confirm process performance criteria are achieved

· Process troubleshooting, investigation and improvement on flat sheet submerged membrane bioreactors.

· Site management for sub-contractors incorporating safety under CDM regulations.

· Maintaining project budget and program to schedule.

· Process design calculation checks including hydraulic checks.

· Design instigation and operational management of pilot plants:

Ø Condor Pilot Plant (Cylindrical GRP package plant) - Principal engineer on this joint venture with Condor, co-designed, wrote control philosophy, commissioned, process monitoring, wrote technical report and redressed any engineering or process problems highlighted.

Ø ABC Pilot Plant (Small household plant trial). Monitored, wrote technical report and redressed any engineering or process problems highlighted. Decommissioned at end of trial.

Ø GlastonburyPilot Plant (containerised plant for festivals) - Commissioned, monitored, wrote technical report and redressed any engineering or process problems highlighted. Decommissioned at end of trial.

Ø Baileys (Diageo, Dublin) - Commissioned and co-wrote a technical report. Decommissioned at end of trial.

Ø Sezela (Durban, South Africa) - Commissioned and co-wrote a technical report.

Ø Cadbury (Port-Elizabeth, South Africa) - Commissioned and wrote technical reports.

Ø Other pilot plants include:- Severn-Trent, Westbury, Bromor Foods (SA) Baydemirler (Turkey) and Fin Clipper (ferry from Finland to Sweden).

· Responsible for producing operation and maintenance manuals, control philosophies, functional specified design manuals, commissioning manuals and training documentation.

· Providing technical support for proposals.

· Undertaking lab analyses for COD, MLSS, Ammonia and filterability.

Sintering/acid metallurgist for Britannia Zinc LTD (full time) July 2001 - April 2003

· Process engineer for sinter/acid plant

· Principal engineer for design, commissioning and management of effluent sludge treatment.

· Delegated as acting technical superintendent for the sinter plant.

· Redesigned control system for sludge de-watering on effluent plant and moisture control for feeds entering the sinter strand.

· Assisted in commissioning of a six million pound gas-cleaning project.

· Scheduled, evaluated and recommended the delivery of raw materials by ship on to site.

· Trained and passed out as control room operator.

· Rescued microstructure and sinter softening analysis.

· Researched into the technical side of reducing mercury in acid through Molecular Recognition Technology.

· Organised the HAZOP studies on the pH control of cooling water.

· Developed interactive spreadsheets for analysis and forecasting operations.

· Assisted in the development of metallurgical accounting and mass balance over site.

· Carried out surveys on both sinter and acid plants.

· Responsible for archiving of sinter/acid plant log sheets

Metal shop worker for Balfour Kilpatrick/Lounsdale (full time) August 2000 - June 2001

· Interpreted technical drawings.

· Constructed switchgear housing.

· Metal fabrication.

Customer Relations for Blockbuster Entertainment (full time) June 1997- Sept 1998

· Responsible for deliveries and updating stock in to computer system.

· Audited the take at the end of the day.
