Reporting to EDS Client Director. Deliver business and service support to site management team to ensure continuation of “NT legacy system services” to 7000 MoD customer base local and remote. Re-align change team, statistics and procurement process to meet MoD/EDS “take on plan.” Work inline with EDS project group to support their 2003 Server XP client infrastructure upgrade program. Take lead to work new Mod/EDS secret network project for 400 person on new MoD site. Work included generating EDS proposal, managing implementation of the secret network connectivity, IS services and business application in line with MoD JSP 440 security standards. Take the EDS lead to review 13 x UK “Take on Service Plans” to capture common service elements such as SLA, procurement, change and other areas of business risk.

IT Business Support Manager (Contractor)

Reporting to B2 Grade Regional Head, Role encompassed management of annual budget to target (£18M) and MoD/HQ audit. Local procurement team, IT business plan management, service delivery statistical performance, staff training, health & safety and (ITIL) large and small “Change Teams.”
Direct responsibility for 22 reports that in turn enabled the 267 regional IT staff deliver service to 12,000 MoD area users. The period saw involvement in major change. Scoping and raising of manpower business cases and budget to support the IT service changes. Negotiation and documentation for/with CIS regions for re-alignment of service boundaries ready for EDS April 2007 outsource. Risk assessment and management of service deliverables due to 50% Abbey Wood based MoD staff attrition over period and the influx of some 45-contractor workforce to retain area service capability.

Sponsored by regional MoD manager to work at Sutton Coldfield. Manage Service Desk and 2nd line and change request supporting 2600 Defence Estates users across MOD UK & Europe locations. Scope existing delivery capability and current risks to service. Stabilise service to meet client SLA. Assess Service Desk applications (Nortel & Assyst) and associated DE customer base, towards transferring/merging with Abbey Wood main site during 2006. Initial service stabilised and scoped, but due to DII/F implementation time and area change, transfer project cancelled.

Hewlett Packard, Various South UK Sites

Reporting to HP Services Installed Sales Group. Management of multiyear contracts MoD Bristol & Newham Borough Council to deliver H/W & S/W and consultancy support services to major sites. Treated as an HP Business Cost Centre/UIN (auditable against ISO 9000) the role took responsibility for annual revenues and expense, monthly financial forecasts, site resources, logistics and third party support and growth. Created winning HP proposal and upsolded 3 year single source extension, absorbing newly installed IBM base and additional added value services to include 2 x major desktop rollout projects. Microsoft NT support. Onsite network management. Installed HP Openview tool set. Took lead in Customer Services role aligning HP B/U’s into New Business venture at Newham Borough Council being a total design and refresh of data centre and client under single fixed monthly x 5-year financial charge.

Requested by Compaq Sales Account Team to engage in managing £3M contract services at DERA Farnborough site. Service to SLA of 8,000 users and multivendor items installed across U/K sites to include legacy
systems, desktop and software. Management of finance, revenue invoicing, subcontract agreements customer satisfaction, strategic and tactical up sell Compaq site resource.

Contracted and by (Digital Multivendor Services Sales Group) to drive a new “Partnership” agreement. On-site role assisting DML IS in their privatisation plan and need to grow commercial awareness and process enhancements. Grow opportunity by “out tasked” services. Initially a 2 person traditional Digital hardware and software contract (400k P.A) the “Partnership” gave opportunity to develop various small on-site projects into services: - One stop multivendor procurement and installation solution. Asset Management. Cost centre re-attribution. Network Services. Single point desktop support. Final opportunity supply of 2000 PC’s for the NT roll out project led by IBM during in 1999. Based on a “cost plus” model for staff and supply this on site business had increased to 15 staff and revenues excess of £1.8 million by December 1998.
