Company Profile:

Our company has been set up by our Managing Director to enable companies to utilise the vast amount of experience he has, and to offer the supply of freelance site supervisors/agents/senior managers to the utilities/civils/highways market place.

All personnel at our company have NRSWA accreditation to supervisor level and have at least 10 years experience in running sites for various different contractors.
All are supplied with vehicles and mobile phones as part of the daily rate.

If you need assistance with the management of utilities or civils contracts, please contact us who may be able to offer good men on good rates.

We can offer, supervisor to Director level staff on short or long term contracts.
Both in the UK and Internationally.

Freelance Manager

I have now set up a ltd company carrying out freelance project management work in the utilities/civils market place. Contracts include multiplex on the high Wycombe town centre re-development (£30mil) I was highways manager in charge of all highways, hard landscaping operations, including resurfacing, slabing, line marking, anti skid, columns, street furniture, roundabout construction, kerbing, drainage, mova loops, etc. Work involved liaising with the designers and local council to get the job done to everyones specifications, on time and within budget. Also Alfred McAlpine as a stats manager, in charge of utilities diversions (multi) and reinforcements on a £26mil new town infrastructure build in Bedfordshire. I also managed/issued permit to dig system, and all TM on site.liaison with local council resident engineer and designers. Currently with British Waterways working as operations manager in charge of all civils work, 90 staff.part of the senior management team, business planning, my budget is £10m per year. Based in milton keynes but covering the south east region. full Pand L responsibility.

Regional Operations Manager

Responsibility for all clean water operations including enterprise repair and maintenance north London and bbul 3 valleys and south west water and the c2c (m.o.d) find and fix contract. Contracts managers report to me. All are clean water contracts. I have been tasked with re-evaluating these contracts. And rearranging the structures. Works include repairs, new services, leak detection, reinstatement.operational and client facing role.36 gangs, 8 agents, and 2 contract managers. Covering all of southern England.
Salary plus Audi A4.and bonus to 20%.

Reinstatement contractor (highways reinstatement) Complete responsibility for running the business. Salary £ +Audi A4, phone etc… 90 staff and complete accountability for P and L.Gang costing, setting up of management structure, sourcing sub contractors, daily interface with client etc…h and s accountability. Managing application for payment, variances etc…business development; I have been instrumental in bringing turn over from £30k per week to over £85k per week in the space of 12 months. Team numbers have gone from 6 to 26 and we keep our 5%. Profit margin. I have also been at the forefront of avoiding section 74 fines. Our staff retention since I started is very high.
This is a complete backfill and permanent reinstatement contract. The work we carried out was mainly in the highways but we also took on smaller projects such as groundwork’s packages including kerb lines, mains and services, drainage and some foundation works. We were also capable of brickwork up to dpc level. Car park construction and large block paving projects. Access roads etc...I also introduced armitage asphalt to the private market were we carried out landscaping, patios, driveways, etc...

Planning work, supervising gangs, client liaison, running reinstatement, budgetary Control, plant control, overall responsibility for maximising profit and minimising Loss, time sheets and fuel returns etc. Management and interpretation. of contract. CVR,Sales projections, ordering p.p.e, enforcing h/s issues. This was a cable-laying contractFor. EDF energy I had service and main laying teams under my remit. Work included Highways excavation (i.e. street lighting schemes) and a large amount of site based Groundwork’s for various developers. Including mains and services etc...
QUALIFICATIONS GAINED First Aid training, CSCS contract managers BLACK CARD, cat and genny, tacho interpretation.

MAIN DUTIES: Supervising maintenance teams on the road ensuring that NRSWA is enforced.

TO INCLUDE: That the work is to clients spec, local authority and council Meetings, responsibility for gang values, overall running of projects including planning Of daily work loads, checking reinstatements, H/S audits. This was a repair and Maintenance contract for Thames water worth £18million at the time.

SALARY: £+ bonus, call out and overtime, car and phone.

QUALIFICATIONS GAINED: NRSWA, 3 day CDM, blue card, Quality Assurance and ongoing in house training, E-mail etc...

PROJECT EXPERIENCE
All the above attributes were put into practice when I was asked to head (linc) .Thames Water’s active leakage project, which the Director General of Thames was told about. Unfortunately this all ended when a 60inch burst on the A406 in London required Repairing. I was also heavily involved in this.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE project manager
I also headed a team of experts who were sent to Turkey after the 1999 earthquake to Help the people of Izmit, fixing water mains and laying new supplies. This was hot hard Work but gave me very good experience and great job satisfaction.
