A widely experienced & versatile trainer, facilitator, assessor, administrator and supervisor, with a wealth of research, organising, communicative and written skills. Proficient at writing concise & accurate reports and producing lesson materials to agreed learning outcomes. Equally competent and comfortable working as an individual or as part of a team. Experience includes supervision of staff of a large training unit and control room, making holistic decisions often contained within stressful situations.  To Co-ordinate and facilitate the effective and efficient Police response to incidents meeting safety requirements, in support of divisional staff
 Management of Police and Support Staff Control Room Operators, meeting welfare and operational requirements using a flexible though disciplined approach
 Supervision of radio and telephone communication systems evaluated against quality standards
 Ensuring all staff are fully briefed and compliant with relevant legislation including Health & Safety regulations, Data Protection and Diversity protocols and service delivery
 Co-ordinating duty rosters to optimum staffing levels for control room sergeants
 Administrative duties including annual staff performance reviews, receiving and briefing visitors

Achievements

 Qualified police recruitment assessor under the SEARCH recruitment system
 Systemically researched and designed unified working practices for a newly formed section within Control Room ensuring compliance with European Working Time Directives
Modified sergeant shift pattern to match departmental needs with officer work/life balance
 Assisted with the research, formulation and delivery of a Control Room tutor course to assist with the development of newly recruited staff
Sole assessor for NVQ L12 – Enabling Individual Learning through Coaching
 Assessor - NVQ Level 2 in respect of Call Handling and Level 3 A1 Assessor award
 Currently undertaking Internal Verification award
