¨ Develop reports for actual capital expenditure against budgets and forecasts for acquisition in network infrastructure in global services division. Include all outstanding commitments for acquisitions. Detailed reporting of capital expenditure by project. Consolidation of capital expenditure reports for all entities.
¨ Completion of all monthly transactions and journals in preparation for monthly close.
¨ Consolidation and monthly reporting of profit & loss account by business unit in global services, reporting and explanation of variances against budgets and forecasts.
¨ Monthly review of variances against budgets and forecasts with senior executives.
¨ Investigation of variances and follow up with operational and business insight teams.
¨ Reporting gross and net costs with reference to internal trading.
¨ Develop profit and loss account and capital expenditure reports in Hyperion environment.

Major Achievements:

Developed a process for reviewing monthly P&L and, variances against budgets and forecasts for business units. Set up a consolidation process for P&L and, capital expenditure reports. Developed planning, budget and, actual reports in Hyperion. Became a super user of Hyperion systems.

Key Responsibilities:

¨ Developing product reporting and planning models for use in Global Services five year plans based on volume metrics.
¨ Preparation of budgets and plans for capital and operating expenditure.
¨ Detailed review of fixed asset register for the joint venture (Concert) to identify assets to be considered for impairment. Review of useful lives of assets in the register and follow up computation of depreciation in the register.
¨ Reviewing and, analysing investment proposals in the joint venture between BT and AT&T.
¨ Regular reporting and analysis of actual and budgeted expenditure on projects.

¨ Work on the financial approval process for a major investment programme of c. £300m in intelligent networks.
¨ Prioritisation and recommendation of major investment proposals for introducing new developments in intelligent networks for approval on the basis of cost savings.
¨ Identify budget savings in expenses associated with programme development expenditure.

Led to successful approvals of investment proposals on major programmes in core networks of c. £4bn and, intelligent networks of c. £300m.

¨ Prepare product plans for apparatus supply business with a turnover of c. £1bn. Introduce balance scorecard for this business.
¨ Off line reporting on gross margin analysis by product and by revenue streams. Off line analysis of district data to produce product profitability reports. Investigate, identify and remove accounting anomalies in accounting practices across the business.
¨ Analyse new customer payment options as a major change in the business. Develop a model for evaluation of conventional rental schemes.
¨ Produce profitability reports and monitor product profitability against targets.
¨ Work on standard delivered costs as a change in the business process for stock items valued at c. £300m in the business.
