Public sector experience:

▪22 years experience in the Department of Employment & the Department of Trade & Industry, 5 of which were spent in roles concerned with training and policy, practices and initiatives for the long term unemployed and 6 years in roles concerned with identifying developmental training needs of middle and senior managers within the Employment Services as well as assessing & verifying NVQ’s. Designing, organising and delivering training events resulting from this. Topics ranged from trainer training, leadership & staff management, interviewing and influencing, staff appraisal, coaching, recruitment and retention procedures, stress and time management, advanced customer handling skills, Total Quality Management and Diversity & Equal Opportunities etc.
▪8 years experience in Further Education Colleges & at Warwick University as a part time lecturer.
▪2 year’s experience with Warwickshire County Council as trainer and assessor/verifier for youth work, training & management N.V.Q’s.

– the national police training college to provide an assessment & validation service to Forces around the country for their Initial Police Learning & Development Programme (IPLDP).
