I am currently employed as an Analyst Programmer with an International Multi-Manager based in London. A member of the Investment Management & Research Department, my primary role is to integrate our internal systems with external market data provider applications (Factset, Thompson, Bloomberg, Reuters, BARRA) through extensive use of VBA and SQL. These RAD applications are designed to simplify, automate and enhance the analysis process and have been rolled out in our Seattle HQ, Tokyo, Sydney and Paris offices. Prior to my promotion in 2006, I built a relationship with these vendors and managed a budget of $2m.

Previously, I worked as a Time Series Analyst with Barclays Capital for a period of three years, overseeing the content and data integrity of metics held on their internal systems. In addition, I held a role as an Equity Research Assistant with Davy Stockbrokers in Dublin (for two and a half years), after a short internship as an Assistant Trader with Pioneer Asset Management

In terms of qualifications, I have CFA Level 1, completed the IAQ, a Masters in Economic Science and an Honours Degree in Commerce (Banking and Finance specialism).

My partner is relocating to Africa in January 2008 and I am looking to accompany her. That being the case, I am looking at roles that will allow me to work remotely. I will be based in a capital cities all over East Africa and, as I do the majority of my work in VBA and SQL, have the requisite tools to allow me to conduct my duties offsite. Presently, I have VPN which allows me to access our systems from home as is, so if access was required to internal systems I could assist. If a full time role is not an option, I would consider taking something on a part time basis.

I have deliberately set a low price to give you a chance to evaluate my skills through a sample project before committing to anything of a more permanent basis - you will not be disappointed.
