22 November 2007: I worked with Catherine for 9 years during which time she was consistently an extremely hardworking, reliable employee. She was a pleasure to work with and have in my team. She has vast experience of all aspects of graphic design but her creative/illustrative skills are her main strength. She produces beautiful illustrations and can turn her hand to any style. | I have worked as a freelance Illustrator since September 2007, mainly supplying illustrations for notecards and posters. I am currently seeking to expand into all areas of illustration (surface pattern design, textiles, editorial) as well as graphic design for print (catalogues, brochures, stationery, logos, invites, flyers). For 9 years 9 (until August 2007) I worked as a middleweight graphic designer/illustrator for a major art publisher in London. In this role I was responsible for designing catalogues, marketing material, exhibition signage and the company's retail products (i.e. art prints and notecards for publication) from concept stage to final artwork. My skills include the usual software packages for Mac OS X (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Quark), the ability to create high quality product mockups by hand, illustration (by hand and digital), surface pattern design, picture research, editing and commissioning, creating trend boards and client presentations. Prior to this role I freelanced at Time Out magazine London as a layout designer, held short-term positions at various London design studios (e.g. Ranch Associates) and fulfilled a variety of freelance assignments for Swiss clients. I consider myself to be organised, calm under pressure and enthusiastic. I feel comfortable working independently and as part of a team and like to muck in with a variety of tasks, from highly creative to the day-to-day running of a studio. Last but not least, I offer proficiency in German and French (native speaker), fluent Spanish and basic Italian and have proofreading/translating experience in German, French and English. |
