Research and analysis on equity portfolio companies and industries, preparation of reports, industry and market overviews. This included analysing political, social and other economic factors to determine trends, business opportunities or highlight current and future risks. Part of the role was to ensure monitoring activities were systematic and targeted at higher risk investees. Using specialist commercial databases researched the M&A market for prices, values, exit options, MBOs, who is buying and recent floats of similar companies.

Involved in three different research projects; Structural Images of the North East (SINE), a lottery funded, digitisation project went on-line in February 2003.
