As a broadcaster and journalist, I have filled roles as news presenter, head of broadcast news, reporter and editor.
I retired from active media work with more than 40 years experience writing for broadcasters and news agencies including: The BBC (British Broadcasting Corp), AP (The Associated Press), REUTERS, The Caribbean News Agency, VOA (Voice of America) and various government publications. For several years now, I have been writing and editing articles, brochures, business letters, newsletters, press releases and Web content for business organisations. I write on a wide range of events and issues ... business, information technology, travel and marketing among others.
In my roles in broadcasting -1964-1978 and Information/Public Relations (1978-1999) for Local Governments, government agencies and private sector concerns, I created brochures, press releases and newsletters. Also, I produced and edited publicity leaflets, Website content and event specific or periodic agency/company and government publications
2000 -2004 - Media Sales Executive, CBA/McMillan Scott… at times I advised on the editorial agenda. But I was mainly responsible for national and international advertising sales for the Commonwealth Broadcaster (quarterly magazine) and the Commonwealth Broadcaster- Annual Handbook, two publications of the London based Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, CBA.
In 1977 I was awarded the Membership of the British Empire (MBE) medal in recognition of my services in the media.

I established and for four years directed the publication of and edited the GIS - a government monthly. I conducted group presentations on a variety of issues on behalf government, public and private sector corporations. I planned and successfully executed up to year-long promotions and campaigns. These included anniversary celebrations for among others government agencies, retail, utility and financial service companies.
I was also the country’s representative on the Caribbean Community Conference of Ministers of Information.

Caribbean Communications Company , CaribbeanI managed the company’s broadcast operations including on air and auxiliary staff, sales and news sections. As sales director I managed a field sales team and constantly achieved targets set by the Board. In my role as head of news and current affairs I set and achieved a goal to be first with the news, ahead of around another 15 broadcast facilities reaching the primary and secondary coverage area of the station. In programming I introduced a variety of programmes which, among other areas reflected socio-economic development, education, culture and music of the region.

Government of Montserrat , MontserratAfter eleven years as manager of the government broadcasting service, during which HM Queen awarded me with an MBE ‘for the development of broadcasting and information in the British Overseas Territory, I was appointed Chief Information Officer. I built and managed the country’s first Government Information Service. I developed the government’s public and media relations policy, planned, designed and managed campaigns for the promotion of government policies, projects and programmes.
