• Acting as first-line leader of CAD staff by co-ordinating and supervising CAD related activities, scheduling projects with Project Managers, assigning CAD resource and ensuring timely delivery of high quality drawings
• Conducting site visits to assess the practicability of the client’s requirements
• Production of achievable plans, elevations and site layouts for the sales team and/or clients, inclusive of any site preparation requirements e.g. tree-felling, scaffold erection, etc
• Production of 3D photo realistic layouts and walkthroughs to accompany proposed plans
• Preparation of Standard Lift Procedure documents illustrating crane positions and lifting points
• Production of detail drawings for the manufacture of bespoke parts
• Creation and administration of central Drawing Control Register
• Maintenance of retrievable database of construction and as-built drawings
• Managing the CAD system to maximize performance, identifying and rectifying system problems
• Maintaining market knowledge of current CAD and related systems and recommending the purchase of new software/hardware when necessary
• Integration of Group initiated product developments into the UK-based CAD system

• Responsibility for the day to day running of the CAD Department
• Customising the CAD system for optimum performance
• Providing general CAD support as well as analysing and resolving technical issues
• Ensuring that CAD drawings and space data are kept up to date on a daily basis
• Continuing Space Planning duties as below

Space Planner (temporary contract) Nov 2005 – Mar 2006
• Taking departmental data and translating it into detailed space plans for the Moves Managers
• Updating drawings and desk database to reflect moves and changes

Teaching AutoCAD 2005 to groups of 16 - 19 year olds:
• Development of Schemes of Work in accordance with awarding body syllabuses
• Preparation of detailed lesson plans showing content, activities and timing to deliver these
• Preparation of learning materials for each session as appropriate
• Delivery of varied and effective teaching/learning sessions that respond to individual learning styles
• Assessing and helping students to assess their own learning throughout the course
• Keeping adequate and legible records of attendance, withdrawals and destinations
• Applying an understanding of Equal Opportunities to the learning / teaching situation

Teaching AutoCAD 2002 to groups of mature students:
• Duties as above

• Taking interior design brief at meetings with clients and architects
• Working closely with the architects who designed the buildings to create effective office space
• Preparing space plans within relevant H&S standards, as well as details, elevations etc.
• Preparing conceptual 3d visuals/graphics for sales presentations or to accompany tenders
• Supporting the Product Designer by translating his sketches into full manufacturing drawings
• Furniture specification & preparation of quotations
• Preparing fully annotated illustrations for installation manuals
• Creating ‘user friendly’ instruction manuals for bespoke software solutions
• Troubleshooting/providing technical support to other AutoCAD users
• Conducting 3D training sessions
• Maintaining the symbol library
• Installing, configuring, customising, developing and maintaining CAD applications
• Keeping up to date on CAD technology and implementing changes as necessary

• Translating initial concept sketches into full working drawings to BS308, including Geometric Tolerancing on detail drawings
• Creating accurate solid models as data sources for Computer-aided Manufacture
• Generating standard orthographic views from solid models, as well as isometric, sectioned and/or exploded views, as required for technical illustration in assembly/operating manuals
• Laying out and plotting drawings to relevant standards
• Approval of drawings for issue
• Maintenance of both manual and computerised Document Control Registers for drawings
• Extraction of data from drawings for Bills of Materials
• Manufacture of accurately machined mechanical components using workshop facilities
• Liaison with clients to ensure that results conform to requirements
