| Talented womenswear designer, with 4 yrs experience in commercial UK fashion industry. Key strengths in tailoring, soft separates, outerwear and jersey, strong 2D/3D fashion illustrator, with individual, youthful & feminine handwriting. Sound knowledge of pattern-cutting, print and fabric sourcing. I am confident in working to tight deadlines and liasing with offshore suppliers. After graduating from Kingston University with a First Class Honours BA degree in Fashion Design, I went on to work on the successful womenswear brand Kaliko, where I gained a sound training in tailoring and occasionwear, including bridalwear and jersey dressing. Working with pattern cutters in-house and on intensive offshore supplier trips, as well as undertaking and presenting thorough trend and competitor analysis. My most recent role was at CC, working for the prestigious Austin Reed brand. Working alongside the buying during an exciting time of change and modernisation; hired for my youthful and feminine design skills, I worked in a small team to develop a feminine range of occasionwear dresses and tailoring, casual linen and denim separates and outerwear for both the main range and petite lines. With my experience in designing quality clothing for the modern woman's lifestyle, and a intuitive understanding of customer, combined with an individual, self-motivated design ethic, I am now working as a Freelance designer and am more than capable of rising to the challenge of designing from the high street to the top end, encompassing alll ages. |
