CONSULTANCY AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

- Leading turnaround of a programme to optimise the economic and social benefits of the MOD’s presence in Wiltshire
- Defence Estate Rationalisation in Northern Ireland
- Army Primary Health Care Service strategic organisational development
- Army Photographic Capability Development
- Royal School of Military Engineering Public Private Partnership. An intervention at Board level involving both military and commercial partners to the PPP
- Defence Vehicle Whole Fleet Management
- Support to Director Royal Logistics Corps (RLC) to develop a strategy to deliver the military capability of the RLC
- Management of the risks to Land Command of an influenza pandemic
- Embedding smart business continuity management in the future Land Forces Command
- Joint Helicopter Command strategy and quality management; delivered benefits through business process improvement, including cultural, safety management, operating procedures and performance management changes
- Feasibility study for a knowledge management programme for Defence battlefield helicopter operations worldwide; identified quality and effectiveness benefits and efficiencies of approximately £ 1 M annually
- Strategic pilot project to rationalise Joint Helicopter Command airfield estate; delivered cost effective change requirements for aircraft, aircrew training and airfields with significant whole life efficiencies and reduced environmental impact
- Helicopter casualty evacuation service in Kenya, to challenging response norms, enabling full utilisation of high added value military ground training opportunities at acceptable risk and reduced cost

SMART ACQUISITION

Recognised for particular knowledge and expertise in Smart Acquisition in the Defence, Land and Air Manoeuvre environments; expertise in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear capability area:

- Pivotal roles in Capability Development, including maximising Battlefield Helicopter and Air Manoeuvre asset utilisation to guarantee delivery of challenging operational outputs, ensuring efficiency in £880M per annum budget
- Conceived and implemented innovative influencing strategy to shape the UK MOD Equipment Plan leading to sustained increased investment in Air Manoeuvre equipment capability
- Developed Air Manoeuvre capability output measurement, gap analysis and investment decision support tools leading to improved utilisation, effectiveness and efficiency
- Partnered with industry to develop innovative approaches to sourcing surveillance and helicopter capability faster and at reduced cost and risk than by conventional acquisition
- Successfully marketed a new surveillance helicopter requirement against considerable opposition from an unmanned aerial vehicle programme, raised its profile with senior military and civilian stakeholders through a comprehensive communications strategy
- Directed the Army Capability Integration Plan for the Merlin Mk3 Helicopter programme, harmonising Customer 1 and 2 responsibilities across the UK MOD ensuring coherence across the training, equipment, people, information, doctrine, organisation, infrastructure and logistics lines of development to agreed performance, cost and time targets

COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER UTILISATION

- Planned and coordinated perception management and conflict resolution in Bosnia with politicians, former warring factions, aid organisations and multi national peace keeping forces
- Planned, directed and coordinated International Symposium for 400 politicians and industry and military delegates, promoting national and industrial interests
- An established MOD and commercial network that may be leveraged to create and exploit opportunities
